Default Thanks BlazinT/A, BadPewterZ and Slowhawk

Blazin, thanks again for the 10 bolt.

Keith, thanks for staying up until 10:30 pm to help me. You got up at 5:00 am with Don and I know you were dragging.

Don, thanks for letting me use your tools and the help when we were stuck.

The rear is the *****, between the cam and new rear, the car is so much more fun. I feel like I just picked up a new car, it's that much more fun to drive.

Dan it felt really good cutting 1.7 60 foot times with the 2.73 rear. It would just dead hook and hold the load on the rear of the car all the way. I always wondered what a normal 60 foot felt like.

The newer gears are night and day. I need to be ready if I am going to give it a fair amount of gas.

I want to race you Griff, lightweight head and cam Corvette vs just a Cam car. I have the torque converter but you have the lightweight car. Let's see

don and i went with a performabuilt....4000

it's really tight, the car moves just off idle, it locks up very soon. kind of to hard to reveiw the torque converter because everything works so well; i cant say i would improve anything. i wish i went bigger, maybe a 4400, it drives so well mannered.

i'm hoping to cut some 1.6 sixty foot times with the new rear. the auto is nice because you know exactly when your maxing your setup and you need more powe. i run 100%, no wheel spin or anything.

for power next i am going to add the 90/90, an electric water pump and take out quite a bit of weight. cam only baby.........or at least a little while.

Glad to see you got the rear in Sunday. I helped too ... we'll I just gave an idea to use some extra stands and stayed outta da way ya knows!. I can imagine what you'll be doing next time at the track .

I just wish I cut those 60' times (my best on DR's was 2.01 ).

Fyi y'all - when he got back from the strip, he immediatly pulled in in the garage and started taking out the rear No waste of time

It's so much fun. Takes driver error right out of the picture and the car will run what it's supposed to. You can spend more time on what to buy next or what you want to do with the car rather than every last second on adjusting your driving....on the street I was a good driver, not so much on the track though.

Alot of water over the dam since we met on the Pike when I sold you those d.o.t. M&H's, right Joe? Just about everyone down there made a pass or 2 on them, no? 1.67 short time was my best w/the Vig 3200 and 3.23's, 26" tire and the stock-motor, un-headered Kinder-tune...you can beat that. WJ

I ran a 12.19 yesterday with a 1.7 sixty. I think if the weather was better and if I was dead hooking; I could of mustered out a 11.99. it’s a long shot but I think it could happen.

Now I have the r3.42 ear, on top of that I have a decent cam, 4000 converter and long tube Kooks with a full exhaust it SHOULD rip. I only have subframes, lower control arm’s and ET Streets but thats all you had right? If I can compare everything to your setup, I should be deep into the 11’s and hopefully a low 1.6 sixty or maybe if I set a mass for the departed; a 1.59! I'm not one for bench racing but it's an idea of where I should be.

What was the time of your best run and what did you run for a spring/tire setup for that?

Nothing better than a killer 60 foot at the track, yanks you right back

Joe my vert has the tiny 216-220cam and yeah 5.3 heads.. sy3500 and headers.. nothing else.. think at lvd the one time when it was hot ran 12.2x 111mph.. so it prob. makes the same power or maybe a hair more than yours, but weighs a **** load, and the TC is to tight also.. but that car sounds and feels 100% stock.. which is what my intention was.. I thought about going bigger on the cam, prob. get like 30rwhp.. lol.. but don't drive it enough..

it will be a challenge IMO to get 11's but if you take a bunch of weight out, it should.

Joe, I was 3545 raceweight, ran consistent low 12.20's @ 109-110. Ran both 26-8.5x15 ET drags or 26x15 ET Street radials. The high 110 mph's always came w/the radial tires on. I was running stock shocks all around, slp boxed lca's w/bolt-on re-location brackets, a right side airlift bag, and '95 V6 Camaro rear springs. '98-'02 V6 springs were all the same, but the earlier ones were really soft, and gave me a full 1/10th w/ my stock, low hp motor. I just ran a LG Motorsports Y, OR pipes, and a cutout. The cutout was only worth .05 sec better than just running thru my dual/dual setup. Basically, I had pretty much nothing but the converter, Don's tune, lightweight whls all around, and my little rear suspension and tire knowledge from the old days...nothing to brag about--but very efficient and very consistent. My car also liked a 50/50 mix of Mobil 93 and 100 unleaded (from the track) way better than all 100 unleaded---don't really know why, but that's what worked best for that car. 11's might take 3.73's for you, but that's just my opinion. Just do it. WJ BTW, My car and Dan's vert pretty much ran dead even. Whoever left best, usually won....

WJ.. yeah we ran close.. I think yours 60ft'd better, even though I didn't spin at all.. I think my TC is just tight on that.. on that day I think I ran you down, but that is due to the HP difference, your 250-300lb lighter got me for the first half.. yeah, shows you don't need to do all that **** to go pretty fast.. at the track.. on the highway hp matters..
