Well, I decided to buy a new shifter for my GTO. After deciding on the one with the Best reputation at the time, The GMM race version... a new product was released into the forums! So I waited a little while to see some reviews and get a feel for the shifter in person, thanks to a local tester of the new unit in CT. Anyhow, here are some pics of it belittling my B&M Ripper.... I present to you the Billet Pro!

It's a remote style shifter as was the factory unit, just 100 times better. It has an adjustable lever so you can choose which height and length of throw you like. Three positions about 50% at the tallest and 60% at the lowest setting, reducing the throw when compared to the factory shifter! So far it's pretty insane how short the throws are. As is seems, it's like my leg holds the clutch longer waiting for my arm to shift... but I have already shifted!! LoL

Don what do you mean by the "rail type" shifters? I haven't seen any that fit the description, afterall I only know of the GMM, B&M, Billet Pro, Harrop and a few from JHP versions in Austrailia.
The B&M was in the car 11K miles and was great to me other than a few recent mis-shifts and those probably could have been prevented had I installed the centering springs but I liked the shifter with out them!! Other than that it was fine! The two bolt design and with hearing more horror stories of the ball shaft breaking, I didn't want to risk it further... a bad mis-shift at the track will/could be very costly!
Keith the B&M physically speaking is like a MatchBox vs. a Tonka Truck!

For not being "broken in" this shifter treated me very well at the track Saturday. Nice accurate shifts everytime... can't wait for it "broken in" so I can shift it even faster!! If that's even possible..... LoL
