and a LOT of cubes... it was a 402 with about a 250-300 hit on it I believe... If I'm not mistaken RPM in Garner NC built and tuned it... its a badass truck for sure, they want to get it in the 9's on that motor... as of right now I think its still a full weight truck.

Post #1 here. My name is Jason. I live in Newport News off Denbigh Blvd. I'm new to Camaros, LS1's, and v8's altogether. My background is mostly in imports, mainly Hondas. I'm not your typical ricer boy that doesn't know his *** from a hole in the wall - please don't flame me. I like getting my hands dirty and doing my own work on ****. You'll read below, I've had the car 2 weeks and already swapped the suspension out. I got sick of Hondas and trying to make them make more power then the original engineers even dreamed of only so I could break some **** and spend a bunch of money to replace it.
Anyways, I picked up this red 99 z28 with 42k original miles on it from RK toyota a few weeks ago. The car was lowered in the front with eibach Sportlines and stock Struts. I fixed that already, got SS springs and Bilstein Road Race Struts in there now, car handles a lot better. Mods I know of on the car are listed as follows:
It’s Cammed with some mild/medium Comp Cam
Has hooker super comp long tube headers, 3” y Pipe, 3” flow smasher American thunder cat back
Has an SLP intake box(lid really), has a few egr tricks done to it, has internal head work, some trick flow kit with new lifters, etc
Has Auburn 4.11 gears out back & summit girdle
The guy that had it before had a time slip where it ran a 12.71 on street tires.
The car runs really strong. I’ve got a spintech muffler coming for it now to replace that flow smasher and I am going to have it tuned within the next month or so. I plan to take it to Frost in Richmond unless someone can find a reason to talk me out of it...
Advice is always welcomed and I'd like to come out somewhere where some other ls1 guys are hanging out, maybe Bass Pro sometime to bullshit for a bit.
Also, if something I have listed is a little off or seems incorrect, please do comment - I'm learning & have no problem with a little criticism.
Thanks All,
Jason

Hey Jason... I looked at that car a couple weeks ago, I know exactly which one you got. Its pretty solid. I dont know how you feel about buying a modded car, especially from a dealership that probably knows jack **** about it but, personally I'd be very careful in it and be easy on it until you have it tuned... if its cammed with headwork, you never know what could be going on or going wrong inside there until you put a few miles on it and see... is it an M6 or A4 car?
by trick flow "kit" on the heads, do you mean Trick Flow head castings??? Just trying to get all the info here...

Welcome Jason, it sounds like you need some experienced eyes on the car to help determine which parts are installed. If you can make it to BPS this Saturday, I'm sure there will be several people there who can help. What color is your car?

but what were saying is Trick Flow is a brand...and i dont think there is a 'Trick Flow kit' persay that you can buy with random stuff in it. Does the car have stock heads on it? look at the passenger side head, toward the front of it on the bottom and it will have a number (853, 241, 243). what does yours say? Since you know what it ran at the track, do you know who owned it before you?

Supposedly has the "ls1 valve spring upgrade kit" - installed when the cam was
owner before me was a guy named AJ Belleville - I've spoke with him and met with him once. Pretty descent guy with actual knowledge of the car. He had the matching suspension I needed to make the ss spring/bilstein combo complete.
Haha, I have a complete set of Eibach sportlines I'll get rid of for REAL cheap if someone wants them.
