Default Moving to New Jersey next month

I got a job offer in Monmouth and it looks like I will be taking it. I'm house hunting right now. Does anyone know a good place to live around there?

jersey has shitty emission/inspecting too. and now, thanks to whoever, its almost impossible to get collector car registration. ******* bullshit politics. hope you still have cats on your TA.

side note.....central/southern jersey (not including the shore) is probably around the cheapest part of the state to buy a house. cheap meaning youll still pay 300k+ or so.

Thanks for all the input. But I have to move. 30% pay increase. I still have cats on my T/A but I am running a stroker so I don't know if I'll pass smog. Another thing I got to do research on. Thanks for the heads up.

jersey is too expensive to live. if u are buying, taxes are insane on property. i live in PA and commute to north jersey. but then again i have a company van and dont pay gas. but prolly still worth it if i didnt have that. jersey's dirty. lol. seriously look into it before makin the decision. yea it might be more money but it might be more money to live.

Job offer is Fort Monmouth. I think it's an Army Base. Cali's cost of living is higher than NJ. There's just a lot of stupid laws and taxes here and Smog check is really ****. I haven't officially decided but it looks like I'm gonna take it.

getting through inspection in new jersey is not the big deal that people make it sound. you would be amazed what "passes" state inspection all the time. lol

any kind of tint doesnt pass in NJ. dont listen to them. jersey is NOT dirty. maybe if you lived in the shitholes of camden, passaic, patterson, etc, then thats all youll think of. if you ever get to south NJ, ie: wildwood, cape may, etc, youll see what a differance. not to mention NW jersey, up in sussex cnty. youll never believe youre in NJ if you go for a hike in stokes state forest. if you want super rich luxury, try NE bergen cnty. for a while it was THE richest county in the entire country. now its still top 5. multi-million dollar homes, movies stars, millionaires......theyre all up there.

speaking of inspection.........NJSPDER.....what happened at SEMA? any info on the collector registration??

It doesn't get that bad here in the winter IMO. By not bad I am talking about days where you positively have to have a truck/snow tires/chains, there are maybe about 5 or so a winter on average where you are better off just not going anywhere. yea there's salt and what not, but snow tires aren't necessary. You can get around just fine in the winter with normal street tires and some self control.

I will admit there are tons of **** piles in NJ, but south and central jersey isn't so bad at all really...

Check to see how far Browns Mill area is to your new workplace. Several of my friends live there. Beautiful small town that housing is lower than surrounding area.

Check www.app.com (Monmouth area newspaper) for classifieds that will help you compare areas.

Congratulations for the new job!

Don't they have a slight "alien" problem there?? (The extraterrestrial kind, NOT the "illegal" type!)

Not sure what browns mills your talkin about but i work at Mcguire and the one here is a real craphole...In town you can probably see 10-20 crackheads walking around in a daze at any given time, alot of trash there. Its probably the only place in NJ you can still find a big house for around 200-250 g and there's a reason for that. Plus I wouldnt attend pemberton HS without a glock I Lived in Monmouth Cty all my life here, nice area's of it but expensive, then again jersey is period.
