Hey Scott,

Very cool I just saw this myself over at the NMCA. (before I saw this thread)

NMCA at Atco 6/08 To Feature Special Late-Model Shootout

Hey Guy's check this out, the deal is through 2010.

http://www.fasteststreetcar.com/

I will be there.

I just posted the above in the "Special Events" section on LS1 Tech and in the Corvette Forum drag racing section, which is very thick with North East racers.

Thanks for the Atco Race.

Once we get things a little more firm in terms of rules, etc... We'll get them posted on our site, and I'll post them here as well. I might as well let you guys know now that there will be no heads-up racing in these special classes. It will be all be based on index, (similar to Memphis) so it can have further reach. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know there will be some of you which will hate that, but for this initial event, the powers that be felt it best to introduce the race as index only for a number of reasons, including the fact that "we" don't want to dilute the heads-up portion of The Shootout in Memphis.

Do you know what the index speeds will be, 12.0, 11.0, 10.0 or like 12.5, 11.5, 10.5, etc.etc.?

Might give me a secondary goal to try to get to next year

Scott,

May I recommend an 11.50 index since that is the Roll Bar threshold for the NHRA.

10.00 is also a key ET due to many factors, cage, license etc...

I would say 10.50, 11.50, 12.50 etc...

I may be wrong here (and I will verify this one way or the other) but I think it will be for late model cars only.

Moose...sorry man your '69 won't fly. I was told today the class is for late model cars only. For the rest of you wondering how "late model" will be defined, that is still being discussed.

If I have my car togather by then and my lic taken care of, I'm definately in for this. Looks like a 9.5 index class much like what I am building the car to race in @ epping, so it's a good fit.

Hopefully it will be all squared away by then.
