Ok guys, I need a bit more info.

I purchased an ORY from Pham0r (a TSP) and I am still debating over the Hooker or PS long tubes. Some one mentioned that the Pacesetters have bad welds witht he EGR/AIR setup. Now, I am not sure if I need the EGR/AIR for emissions back home in Texas or at all. What are the benefits and disadvantages?

Also, I am looking for anyone who has installed poly motor mounts before? Are the a must?

Like I have mentioned before, I am new to this so I want to make sure I get decent stuff and do it right.

I'd go for the hookers, mainly because when I had bought headers before, I got the jet hot long tubes, which are basically hookers, just improved a tiny bit. whatever you get, make sure they are coated.

poly motor mounts aren't a must if you aren't making huge power, i'm making about 460 and have stock mounts, although i am upgrading to poly or maybe solid mounts here soon...

Here's a good queston for ya about TX.

Are you going to run Cats??? Since u bought a ORY i take it, its a NO.

If not then dont worry about the EGR because the cats will be your first problem LOL

Ive always had a hook-up in TX for my inspections........ that would be your best bet.....

I wouldnt waste my $$ and time with poly motor mounts..

Ive had the Hookers and the Jet-Hots both coated... I like them both and will run a coated header in the next car.

So hard not to laugh at that response. I trust your word shawn. I am just on a budget. I have three cars, an E3 pay, and a house that is more than BAH. I want to do things right, but if they aren't needed or not so much right now then I want to wait on it.

I need cats for Texas, but won't be there for 2.5 more years. I do have hook ups, or did anyway. Bad part is that they cost $80 or so.

What are the effects of running the cat/no cat and egr/no egr with performance?

Basically I need a lesson in Basic/performance LS1 101. I don't want to NOT ask questions and **** something up later on. I'm pretty sure I will be purchasing my headers from Shawn and still deciding on tune. Not sure if I need the dyno tune or not. I don't even know who all tunes in this area. I just hear good things about VA Speed from folks. If I were home all this would be easier as I knew people who ran LS1's for awhile. Being a truck guy I'm retarded when it comes to the f-bodies.

No cats will actually increase your performance. Although, you can buy "Hi performance" cats that pretty much run the same as no cats....you'll only sacrifice 5hp/tq +- a couple. You can always do as I did, just gut your cats, so TECHNICALLY I do have them

Also just because you bought an ORY doesnt mean you cant have cats welded to it.

As far as headers with EGR-AIR, when I got my car inspected (in tx) they didnt even know that it was missing. They looked for cats and that was it. Plus getting all that EGR/AIR crap out of the way definatly frees up some room in the engine compartment. *there is no performance to be gained from not running egr/air*

Oh and with headers, honestly you cant go wrong. They will all peform about the same. Just depends on what you wanna spend, id say the majority on the board ive noticed run Pacesetters. That speaks for itself. Also, as far as welds go, you wanted your exhaust welded on....im sure the person could go over what *if any* was missed on the headers.
