Default NJ Insurance...

Im so pissed the cheapest car insurance i can find here in shitty south jersey decided to up my bill AND I DID NOTHING WRONG. Im gonna be 20 november 21st i have no accidents and no tickets so besides the bs points the dmv gives you off the bat i have nothing. i was paying like 250month for 10 months for full coverage on my daily driven 02 ws6 and now they're charging me $280month for 10 months for the same full coverage. I use the barclay group in deptford nj because they were the cheapest in nj i could find so i had them shop around and they said all 8 companies they shopped me through wanted to rape me for $4k for the year wtf is that bs. Who do you south jersey guys use and whats it cost im gonna do some more of my own shopping around AGAIN. (and geico and progressive tried charging me $5k for the year)

I am an insurance agent.

Here is MOST likely the reason.

Claims due to other drivers. What you pay for insurance premiums almost go immediately out the door for claims other drivers have, Most companies dont price correctly or have to make adjustments.

Some of the common factors of insurance are.....

Age of driver
Where you live
If veh driven to work or pleasure, if work, how far.
The veh info it self,
Coverages
Deductibles

and a host of other things.

Also NJ is what we call "Soprano" Country, ALOT of insurance fraud, when stuff like this happens it effects your rates.

I.E.

Move out of NJ.

If you have a good driving record apply at New Jersey Manufacturers. They are a protected pool with very good rates and they pay out dividends to their members every year. My rebate check from them last year was $300.

you have to meet certain criteria that i don't for njm
Membership Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to apply for NJM coverage if you or your spouse are:

Currently employed by a member organization of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association; or
Currently employed by the State of New Jersey; or
The named insured or resident spouse on a current or previous NJM policy for Personal Auto or Homeowners; or
A current or previous operator of a vehicle insured under an NJM Personal Auto policy.

me and no one in my house are employed by the state or part if the njbia or w/e so thats a no go for me thanks.

I had the barclay group also. I switched to state farm and saved 1500 dollars a year literally. But i turned 25 and my points cleared up at the same hit. Give them a call. I use Cary M Brown on fries mill road in turnersville

I have Allstate, I pay 375 a month.

Liability on my DD, and full coverage on the WS6 as a pleasure vehicle. I use Allstate for my homeowners insurance too.

Sounds like MetLife is beating you for some money, my insurance went down again this year with NJM. Just $852, full coverage, $500 deductable, for the year. If I get the same dividend check as last year it will only turn out to be 550 for the year.

My insurance is way cheaper than almost all of my friends that live across the bridge in PA.

doesnt work like that around here for me lol i had my camaro in my parents insurance and it cost me less to be on my own and a couple of the insurance companies i talked to told me that alot of the time now it would cost less for it to be just mine but none of them ever gave me a straight answer why. i just called highpoint they are gonna cost me $300 less a year so far i guess thats what imma go with so now its $2500 instead of $2800

The only problem you have here is you have to work for a company that is a member, if you dont you still could get new jersey manufacturers re- insurance. I have njm and i pay 1800 a year for a 03 ZO6 and 07 silverado hd 2500 and that doesnt include the rebate you get at the end of the year (last year i got $475 back)

Personal question here, how is your credit? Anytime you try to go with a new insurance company they run a credit report and they use your score to help factor your rate.
