Did the Ti bypass mod today on my Ti catback!!
I finally got around to doing the Ti bypass mod on the car today. It was WELL worth the work. Sounds freaking fantastic! Mid-WOT is incredible sounding...
Here are a few pics...
Here is a before and after video - the videos do not do it justice. It sounds different (better) outside the shop and after the car has warmed up and idled down.
Before

After
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiJUEcHZuuk
Inside the car did not change much - 6th gear on the highway sounds like stock but if its dropped down a gear or so you can hear it... its a good thing! =) not annoyong for sure!

Do you happen to have any extra titanium conduit pipe? I have a TI exhaust sitting in my garage waiting for this mod to be done. I can't find anyone that supplies it other than on Ebay.
Thanks in advance,
Vince

It looks like the weld was brazed.

Unfortunately not with titanium. I wish, It would have turned a 2hr job into 5mins!! You have to tig weld it using 100% argon as a shielding gas, with Ti as a filler. Shielding the weld is super important with titanium. Back purging is also important but I do not find it necessary on an exhaust system....maybe if it was some nuclear type manifold supporting 35000psi lol
