That's a really good looking ride you've got!!!............ I'm just messing with you!

My black camaro won't do 12's................ I got a red car that will get "real close" though! It's been sitting for a few months. My doctor shut me down and wouldn't sign my NHRA renewal license. Soooooooooo, I thought I would get this camaro and see if I could get it to go over 45 MPH...... I think with a little work, it'll do it! :-)

I want to ride! Please please please!!!
NICE! we can still line them up though

I'll be honest, it was an absolute blast to run this thing, but it's over now. I'm going to sell it, but everyone short of Donald Trump is broke and Donald doesn't drag race. I already know I will lose my butt selling this but........ it's gotta go.

I'm looking forward to getting some info from all of you "seasoned" LSer's on here to help me get past that 45 MPH mark with this black camaro. Before I bought this, I couldn't even spell LS1. I've always been a 1st Gen engine builder.

I'll be bugging the crap out of everyone........... picking their brain for the good stuff!

Not a problem! If you don’t mind me asking what was the best time that thing has run? I would absolutely love to have something like that someday. I have always been a first gen engine guy also but I have to say these LS motors are fun. My first car was a 67 Chevelle back in 1989, second was a 67 Camaro I bought in 1990 and I sold it about 4 years ago. I love the 2002 but at times I want to sell it and get another older car but then I drive the Z28 to the track with the air on run a few low 10sec passes and drive it home with the air on! At that point I remember the 2002 is the best of both worlds I drive it every day in comfort and can take it to the track and almost run with the best of them.

Good lock with your car and yes they can be as fun as the older ones.

My very best at Bradenton was a 7.82 @ 171.55 MPH - 1.102 60ft.
The altered weighed 1880 with me in it and full of fuel. (highway 60 truck scales). I backed the blower drive off so it is now only 1:1 and I haven't run it since then. I truly expected that I was going to blow the bottom out of it on that run. I have a 4 bolt splayed block and I figured it was pushing hard on 775 to 800 HP to run those numbers. It didn't blow, but I backed it down after that one.

I am going to do my very best to make it out to Lakeland this Saturday night. It has been a while since I have been there and would like to see if any of the folks on here are out there. I would like to see your rides. If all works out, I'll be there, but not too late........... it gets past my bedtime!

Good luck with your 383 build. Make sure you post some pictures as you go along with the build........I just bought mine a little over a month ago and haven't really done anything to it yet either. I put the SLP lid on it and bought a Magnaflow catback system which will be installed someday soon. I'm sure this Camaro will be like everthing else, I won't be happy until it goes faster!

Greg, B&L Tire on 98 by the parkway has a pair of 285/35/18's. they gave me a price of $100 installed for the pair. I just decided I wanted a taller profile tire and went with 275/40's instead

Mine has the LQ9 6.0L engine in it, not the LT engine. I still don't know a lot about the LS1 and LT1 engines but its a SBC and having built a bunch of 1st Gen. small blocks, I know that you can put a lot of "go fast" in them without a lot of work. Just make sure you are putting good parts in it and that 383 will be a road burner!
