Jacksonville: Does anyone have their car wrapped or Plasti Dipped?

When the time and money comes, I was thinking of wrapping or Plasti Dipping my 01 WS6 Vert. I will be opting for the Murdered Out look, and I think one of these options would be better than painting it, since your can't really wash or detail Flat Black paint. If a bird ***** on it or something gets on it, you're... or at least the paint, is screwed.
Has anyone done this?
What do you think of it?
Any pics?
How is it holding up?
Who in JAX would be a good source to have this done?

Haven't personally done either, but have seen a fair amount of both.
Having someone wrap the vehicle isn't a particularly low cost route. It can save a lot of cost over a comparable detailed airbrush job though. since it's vinyl, life is comparable to lettering you see on commercial trucks. Different grades & life can be from fair to good. Surface oxidation can be cleaned with polish, just like paint.
Plasti dip is more affordable. brite colors definitely fade fast in constant sunlight, not really sure about the darker colors. It can be sprayed decently with spray cans a small area at a time, but many spray can jobs look like a kid did them. Can be purchased by the gallon, never checked into where from though.
If you just want the hot rod black look, there are lots of places selling affordable hot rod black kits in real paint.

Plus I've heard horror stories about Murdered our flat back paint jobs and how they can easily get fucked up, since you can't detail them. I've heard more than once that if a bird ***** on it, you're stuck with a white mark... I'd be killing a lot of birds

All you need is a HVLP paint gun from Home Depot or Lowes with a 1.3mm spray tip. If you look around you can find concentrated dip for a lot less than the guys on Youtube sell it for. You just have to thin it out before you spray it which isn't hard at all.
I've been wanting to spray my DD with it but I can't seem to get off my *** and do the body work it needs first.

This is the cheapest I found. Not sure how shipping will beat up the savings though.
2gal - $90
4gal - $170

I called DYC and asked if they meet or beat pricing and the guy said no, but then had the ***** to ask who was beating them. Yeah, like I'm going to do your market research for you![Icon Rolleyes](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_rolleyes.gif)
He got all pissy and hung up on me, lol... ehhh ****'em! I'll just use them for their DIY vids

I believe you cut it 50/50 with thinner but you might want to double check.
I've been wanting to do a base silver with a 50/50 mix of gun metal and blue and see what I get. Oh well, one of these days I'll get off my ****.
