Default Anyone know a shop or help for fuel pump?

My car is a 2000 SS with about 197k on it. The fuel pump went out and I'm looking for somewhere to take it that won't rip me off. Typically I'd do the work myself with help but after my eye surgeries I don't see as well as I use to. So if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate any help. I'm in Apopka btw. Thanks guys.

redline in daytona can handle that and WONT cut your car up like other shops will to install the fuel pump.

Trap door all day long and DIY. Adding a well done trap door doesnt mean you hacked up your car.

I agree 100% but when you pay a shop to install a pump you don't expect them to cut up your car. There is a shop down south that does that lol

Ouch. They should at least give the customer the option of which route they want to go and associated costs.

I used the piece that I cut out and had my brother weld a frame around it on top with 1 in. wide by 1/8 in. thick steel so it hung over about 1/2 in.
Then the piece I cutout would sit right back where it came from and I put a bead of silicon and set it in place with the welded frame able to overlay 1/2 in.

Hope I explained that to be able to understand.

So the cutout part would be flush in the hole with a picture frame welded around it and the green dots in the picture below represent the hangover where I could put a bead on the 1/2 in. overlapping frame to seal it.

I was going to do the trap door. The only problem is my vision isn't good enough to do it myself. I'm willing to pay to have it done, just dont want to pay $800 for a fuel pump change. I'm in apopka north of Orlando. Need someone I can trust to do the job

You can call American Motorsports in Orlando. They build drag cars primarily so your project will be easy for them. It's worth finding out their price and time range so you have a starting point for comparison.
