Default No Lip Nationals

I meant to post this in here before the first event, but just plain forgot about it. Don't know if anyone might be interested in making it up to Gainesville December 3, but I would love to see some fast LS1 cars show up.

Here's the rules:

What time does the race start and what kind of a turnout do you expect? Will these be the only cars running that night, or do they have the test - tune also?

Street class meets at Miller's Automotive in Middleburg @ 5pm for the "long" cruise, and the other classes meet at the track at 7.

I'm not sure how many cars will be in each class, but I can tell you that people drove up from Orlando and Daytona for the original date that got rained out earlier this month. It should be a good show.

sounds like a race within the Friday night street legal event. As far as I know the FNSL test and tune for everyone is still on. Sounds like it'll be a fun night to end the '04 season.

Yes, it's a race w/in the Street Legals. All normal Street Legal Night rules still apply (no trailers, street legal, etc.)

The cars that I saw were some of the quicker, "No Bull" style cars. There is a street class though...dunno if you'd fit into that or not.

I'm sure that they'll prep the track well considering the event. At least one would hope.

Hopefully my 98 will be ready in time, and I`ll run the No Bull style class. If not I`ll run my other car in the street class, against my friend Jeff and his Vortech SS.

I had a good time in Gainsville tonight at the No Lip race. Met lots of new people, some racers from central FL.,Sream good to meet you and will see you next Sun at No Bull and Christine that ran the race was very nice, pretty cute too. There was 16 cars in the Street drag radial class, I believe 8 cars in the 10" slick class and just 3 or 4 in the No Bull stlye Outlaw class. Quite a few good races in the street class. I red lighted in the second round against a car that would have been a close race, he made it to the final against a 10sec mustang so I would`nt have won the class anyway. In the Outlaws there was an 8sec black 2nd gen Camaro and he had no competition. The 10" slick class had some good races, it was won by the red Nova that won No Bull 2 years ago.

Hey Jeff you should have come up its only 1:30 drive from my house to the track, I forgot it was that close. Got home at 2:15. About 1/2 the street cars were 11sec cars. That Mustang had a 351 w/a huge cam, lots of spray, good suspension too. I raced a turbo Honda Civic in round 1 his tag was something like( BYE LS1). Well I put about 7-8 cars on him by half track and got on the brakes hard at 1000', he traped 122mph. 2nd round I raced an Lt1 TA w/355+ 200 shot. I brought the rpms up too high at the starting line and my car crept forward, red light. He was running 11.5s , so we ran it through and I got him by 1 car.

sounds like the rules needed to be tightened up a bit since the field so greatly varied in the street class.

wanted to make it out but was too pooped. put in another 70 plus hour week.

I thought it was kind of cool that alot of different cars were runnig the drag radial class, the rules were just fine. The tires are the limiting factor, the Mustang was running the MT drag radials and they hooked to the tune of 135mph. I know of a red supercharged car that could take him on some 275/15 MT drag radials , that is also a street car.

Hey guys, anyone aware of what the DA was last Friday night in Gainesville? I was just curious as it would let me know my true gains from the duals. Thanks.
