Default Looking for a summer job (9-5)

Hello all,

In the few months I have left before police academy, I need to start making some extra $$$$$, and now that I am not committed at odd hours at OSW, I can work 9-5 (or whenever) 7 days a week, nights included.

My last classes at UCF will end June 20th, and on August 1st I will be receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I would like to start on May 12, and can work throughout the summer.

If anyone has an opening, please let me know. I can do damn near anything, and will give 100% in trying. You will not be disappointed in hiring me.

Thanks in advance,
Dana Shaw

i am too man. im so f'ing tired of working on cars and the **** that comes with it working at a dealership. I understand there are cry babies everywhere, but I could at least take it knowing that I'm taking home x amount of dollars everyday, instead of worrying if I'm even going to make a $ every day.

Luckily I may have an opportunity to get a co-op at Universal Parks & Resorts.

Sweet, I was thinking about applying at a dealership to be a lube tech for a little while. I have a little experience in sales, so perhaps I can apply for a salesperson job .

I was just hoping someone on LS1tech may have had an opening somewhere.

If your starting police academy, you might wanna look into Dunkin Donuts ( cops spend alota time there) JK man, good luck at the academy. But seriously, I know its been tough for teenagers/ people in there early 20s to get a reliable/decent job nowadays. I have been lucky enough to hold onto my second job now for around 5 years but we always have kids coming in to ask if there are openings and such. Good luck on the job hunt.

it's nearly impossible to find a decent pay job right now for kids still in school. That's why i resorted to the dealership route. Being a bouncer was fun, but the late nights suck and the constant fighting got old.

places like best buy and circuit city pay ok, but the f'ing personality tests they make you take are f'ing rediculous. I never pass them because I may have a anger problem, but even with my girlfriend filling one out and talking to a manager in person I still didn't get a job. It's like applying for a freakin' gov't posistion

I may call a few dealerships and see if they want a salesperson or a lube tech. On a good note, I got a letter last night from the Gainesville Police Dept saying they want me to continue in their hiring process

then you have issues with the abundance of homeless people, break-ins, and my favorite bar fights. I never once saw or took part in a street race in gainesville, never could find anyone too or any place too, maybe I was looking in the wrong areas.

If you move their I envy you because you'll be that much closer for gamedays lol. I miss it there but Orlando is so much better of an area to live in.

Eh........ not 100% with you on that. I think Gainesville is a lot nicer than Orlando. Despite being a city boy, I like G-ville for the greenery, the nicer people, and the lack of palm trees

Too each his own lol. I was talking about the proximity of the mass amounts of things to do in this area. Theme parks, beach, old town, Daytona speedway, ect.
