Default Turbo xs rfl

I got this for my procharger setup, but now I'm wondering if this will work properly from what I'm reading. It looks like it operates in the same manner as the bypass valve thats on my setup right now. I have a bosch style bypass on there right now. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

What you have there is a BOV "blow off valve" for a turbo kit.

I have my bypass valve vented to atmosphere from the cold side piping. It normaly ties back into the intake piping. So it acts like a bov. From what i can tell these 2 operate the same way using vacuum and a diaphram inside the housing.

bov doesn't release pressure under idle... The reason is because the turbo doesn't create any boost.. The bpv does release pressure because even at idle it can create a little boost which will hit the tb and go back and fight against the supercharger fins...That's the difference...

If there is vacuum it lifts the piston in the BOV allowing it to vent

A "properly adjusted" blow off valve will be closed at idle and will only open when there is excess pressure to vent.

If you have a blow off valve adjusted to be open at idle (softer spring or adjusted out), it will basically perform the same function as a bypass valve vented to atmosphere.

I know that these are adjustable units. Will it still hold boost properly?

Yup. That's why the vacuum line goes from the intake plenum to the back of the BOV. As long as you are WOT, there will be as much boost pushing on the back of the diaphragm as the front of it. With the pressure equalized, it doesn't take much strength to hold it shut, and that's the purpose of the spring.
