Default upgrade stock 317s or get PP stage 2

have a couple pair of stock 317s that i was going to put on my twin turbo 408 build. look to be in great shape; however, was going to lightly mill to flatten surface and do a valve job. then i figured as long as i was going to do a valve job that i should upgrade valves ($260 in parts). so i then have $200 in the heads, $260 in valves, $260 in new springs, plus $150 or more in machine labor for around $870 total.

1) is this a reasonable solution or is it better to spend another $530 and get the patriots for $1295? trying to pinch pennies where reasonable. would expect 12-14 psi boost when all said and done.

2)i assume the patriots would flow better than unported 317s also but is it enough to justify the cost?

3)also, what valve size would be best for that psi?

Stock valve size would be fine, I would rather have good valves in a turbo engine anyhow. So yes it is worth it IMO to have the work done.

Think about having pp just build up your heads to there specs? I dont know what kind of money you would save but I run the stg 3 317 with their springs.

ive got some brand new 72cc stage 2 patriots for sale if interested... https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/1009321-patriot-stage-2-heads-brand-new.html

just trying to make it easier to justify the cost 1100 instead of 1300
