Default what kind of power u guys making

I have a 6 speed camaro and im planning on a built 6 liter bottom end nice blower cam ls6 intake not sure what heads yet and a tc78mm turbo I am lookin for about 850 whp and just wondering what heads and how much boost u guys are using to get that with a setup close to mine ive been told at that power level I could use stock untouched 6.0 heads and make that power at about 15 psi just lookin to see what route everyone else uses to make that power

Thanks

You can make that kind of power around that psi with that engine with those heads if the bottom is forged with that turbo. If it were me, I'd go with a slightly larger turbo, but that's just me. You doing a front mount, and meth or no meth?

It will be a fully forged bottom end The reason I'm runnin that turbo is cause they say it spools faster... It is a front mount and No I'm not planning on running meth

I don't think you will be able to get 850rwhp @ 15lbs with stock 317s.

What route do u guys suggest on heads to make 850 rwhp if using stock style head I wanna stay under 20psi cause I hear that u start pushing water above 20 psi so I guess what I'm askin is can 850 be made and stay in a safe zone on pushin water with stock heads

You are looking at it all wrong, heads dont start to lift or "push water" at any certain psi or even horsepower level. I would put the best parts you can use based on your budet. If you do a larger motor, nice set of heads, and cam the car will make more power on less boost.

Reguardless of your motor size, heads, or cam if the tune and assembly is good the engine should not push water at 850rwhp through a 6 speed.

ls1 + forged internals etc
PRC LS6 stage 2.5 CNC ported heads
224/228 custom turbo cam
gtk1000 ( turbonetics turbo )
and a few other things too and im hoping to get 16 - 20psi and 850 RWHP

( curently at 500 with what i have )

Stock head deck thicknesses will limit boost to somewhere around 16 psi of boost as an average. I would go with AFR heads as they have a thicker deck surface and will allow you to run more boost. The additional flow from the AFR heads will help increase the horsepower without having to run as much boost as an added benefit.
Check out this build that we did. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=39 This Firehawk would of made a lot more power if we could of cranked the boost up, but the 11.0/1 compression ratio and pump gas kept the boost down. Bob

Well what route would u guys go to get 850 rwhp My thing is I don't want to spent the money on the more expensive heads if I can make it safely on a stock set of heads I don't mind running a mixture of race gas if I need to cause I don't intend to run that kind of power all the time I just plan to run on 650 to 700 most of the time but I wanna get 850 for My track tune but need to know if it will be possible to achieve that and still be safe ... What kind of boost will it take to make 850 with a mixture of race gas

Thanks

If you run good forged internals, good sized turbo cam, and 317's with head studs you could hit 850 rwhp, however as stated above you would be nearing the limits of the stock heads. As Bob mentioned a great set of heads would be AFR 225s with their thicker deck or maybe even a set of TFS heads. Now when you say built 6 liter bottom end do you mean the 364 CI configuration or are you using a 6 liter block with a different CI combo? Also, aluminum or iron block?

I mean a forged 364 I want to use the aluminum block cause that 80 pounds from the iron block just seems unnecessary at the power level I'm looking to make

That turbo will not make 850whp at only 15 psi with stock heads. NO WAY IMO. Buy AFR heads, and add boost until you reach your desired HP.

PS--Have you ever driven or rode in a 600whp turbo car? Just curious.
