Get a vented catch can. I was running breathers on the rocker covers and started to get oil on things.

conan , i hear you, i have one one my stock motor now the taller bigger breather , it got oil on my coils and valve cover a little, no big deal but i dont like it,
i tryed the ECS breather that one is built on a stock LS1 oil cap and they press in a little baffel in the bottom of it , it did seem like it worked.

Is there a certain vented catch can that you used?

I made my own for now because I'm broke But I'll probly buy a nice one when I get some more money. I used pvc pipe from home depot and drilled and taped threads for the 3/8 hose barbs and filter. Alittle getto but it cost $10 for every thing.

Alot of it depends on how 'tight' your motor is built too.

If you ditch the stock PCV and you open up everything - meaning run a metco style breather on the front of the pass. valvecover (where the filler cap usually is), and use a small breather on the front of the intake plate under the TB, and run another small breather in the back of the driver side in the small port on that valvecover - you should be fine to around 800 engine HP on a fairly tight motor. Anything over that HP level a catchcan/vacuum assisted PCV type setup would be helpful.

His reasoning for a catch can is the oil mess from the breathers.

Yes , i dont want oil all over the new Carbon fiber valve covers and coils.

here is the link to the vented catch can i just bought

http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29392-...m=330292004098

what do you guys think? is the 3/8 inlets big enough, i am going to run a 3/8 hose off of each valve cover to the catch can, will this be enough ventiliation?

what type of fittings are you guys using off of you valve covers?, I just picked up 2 1/2 rubber garments to push in 1/2" to 3/8" plastic 90deg elbow on each valve cover, i was thinking on going the 6an route with nice black russel fittings, but you cant see the fittings on the back of the valve covers anyway,.

also is it nessary to use some sort of oil baffel on the valve cover , i didnt think it would with everything running to the vented catch can , and it has a oil baffle built in anyway, and i dont want to hack up my Carbon fiber covers

will you need any vacuum type of line going to the catch can or are you just going to run a line from each cover to the can?

HI Bob
does that morosso catch can have a internal oil vaper baffel befor the filter?
Also do they make one with two inlet-ports , i like to vent both valve covers into one catch can.
