I hear what you guys are saying... and that's great im just trying to figure
out what i want. Ive got about 50k ready to spend. The only thing thats
stopping me is that im not sure its worth the investment. and im thinking
about getting back into older cars... so you guys will find out in the next
week or so. Right now im looking at a 69 HOSS vert, and a 66 Shelby like
my dad's.
Later.

So let me get this straight you have "50k to spend" and you see this as some sort of "investment", then I got some news for you kid......these cars are not an investment IF you plan on selling it after you spend that "50k" on it, then be ready to get 12-15k for it tops.
Putting you upside down in your "investment."
Those of us that do this kind of thing know one thing or get to know it quickly, either you do this to keep the car ...basically forever... or be ready to take a serious loss when it comes to selling it, because you'll never get what you put into it when it goes up for sale.
Dave said it best:
i was turned off to it all soon as i realized it was all hypothetical.
Take 8-12k from your 50k, do a nice 8 rib D1 stock cube forged set up and you'll have plenty of power to have all sorts of fun with. Finish school and use the rest of your investment money to do just that INVEST IN SOMETHING WORTHWHILE....especially in this **** economy.
Oh yeah....Kenne bell blowers
Not bashing but how many 4th gen F bodies have you seen running around with a kenne bell blower?
There is a reason for this.

One of the local GTO guys built this 68 Camaro with an LS7 with his dad. There was an article in Car Craft about it. If I had the cash I would definitely do an old car with modern drivetrain. Then it is an investment.
