Default NEW PROJECT. Procharged LSX 1000WPH Daily Driven

Okay guys,

I havent been on here much lately. Needed to finish up the semseter strong. but ive been thinking. and im heading back home to michigan to be with family and finish out my aeronautical sciences degree..

Anyway.
Ive been looking for a new project. big project for the winter.

STS... had most of the problems sorted out and was working on tuning...

but now im tired of dealing with all the problems of a 100k drivetrain.

So im ready, financially...

but ive been planning it out..

im gonna put in a whole new drivetrain. and suspension.

GOALS...

9's
Full weight
Daily driver
1000WHP
stealthy AKA not dragster loud like it is now. headers and a y...

oh yeah and im not sure between M6 or an auto...

I thought i was set on a 427+ LSX with an F1R, based off EPP/Jordans C6Z

but then i learned about problems with belt slipping with a stick and the belts...

So questions... does a cog system fix the slipping... like so i could DD a 1000WHP procharger.

I know everybodys gonna tell me to do a turbo.. so i can run 2 boost levels.. but i have a bad taste in my mouth with turbos.

NO nitrous.

I really do appreciate all your help.

Im driving home, tomorrow, to michigan for the winter. And im gonna start disassembly then. engine should be out friday, if all goes as planned.

And im gonna start ordering. I have some time. As the roll cage and paint will take sometime.

Thanks again guys. Im really excited for this build.

and yea the STS kits for sale

Yes you can do that but I am not so sure that it would be a daily driver.

427 cu.in LSX block
LS7 cylinder heads
Procharger F1C with ATI superpulley (clutched cog pulley)

That is the easy way to make 1000 rwhp. However I wouldn't say any F series procharged car is going to be stealthy. The race bypass and actual blower is very loud. For ultimate stealth turbos are the key, cause blowers have gears and gears make noise

I'm in the same boat bro. My last setup was a front mount DD TT T/A 725rwhp and I had ALOT of bugs come up with that system and didn't like the lag and sluggish engine response. VA Speed is finishing up my build as we speak with a LS7 427, ported warhawk 7x heads and an F1R. I'm having custom steel brackets made to eliminate flex and 10rib pulleys to eliminate most slip. The ONLY way you could possibly run a cog DD is with the ATI sprag/super pulley. I am seriously considering switching over to the ATI sprag cog drive on my setup now since I'm M6 and spinning to 7500. Stick with it and I'm sure you'll enjoy the procharger!

I was under the impression that cog setups were pretty tough to run on a manual? Sounds like a sick build though and you def have the right parts to get you where you want to be.

If "stealthy" is what you are wanting, then the procharger is not the way to go. You can hear it from a city block away! Go turbo if you want stealth and power.

no kidding. now a TVS blower would probably do what you want. its quiet and the top model can supposedly support 1100+hp.

First thing you will need is about $30k.

Like Hunter02ss said, big prochargers are insanely loud. Turbo is the way to go and keep it hush hush. Don't let the STS kit ruin your turbo experience.

A rear mount "daily driver" @ 1000rwhp is going to feel "laggy" because you'd have to run a giant turbo back there. A front mount with something like my s480 will get you there dude, easy on a 427. Something in the 130lb range would be cherry, and still "stealthy" out of boost! >=)

True traditional COG setups aren't that great for a street car or a stick car where the RPM is varied between gears because the belt takes alot of abuse, and there is no decel slip like you would have on a serp. setup. However the ATI superpulley solves that problem with their one way clutched COG belt, which allows free wheeling of the pulley on decel. This way COG belts last a long time and boost recovery between gears is much faster because the blower free wheels and is not pulled down by the dropping RPM of the engine

Ive been thinking about going TTi or APS, so i can run 8psi on the street. or i can bump it up when i want.

But i think ill miss the big V8 sound.

Maybe i dont care about stealth.

I would love a twin screw blower. There my favorite. but i havent heard of a mount for the LS7.

I know MTI can stick a TVS1900 on LS3 heads. but there isnt even a tuner kit yet.

If they came out with a kit for a Kenne Bell 2.8H or a TVS2300 Id get that in a heartbeat.. but i dont think that will be soon.

So thats how i came to Centris.

I'm putting mine back on the dyno Saturday..should be close to 800rwhp "corrected".. which means 630rwhp or so uncorrected.
