Default My DIY truck manifold budget build.

I finally decided to take the plunge and fab up my own truck manifold turbo kit, with a budget in mind (yeah right) lol. I have been taking this build slow, buying parts here and there. I guess thats my idea of a budget, not buying everything at once. Anyways I am part way through my build and I just wanted to show you guys my progress, and hopefully get some comments or suggestions. So heres my baby and some of mess I'm starting.

Headers and true dual exhaust I made(I guess for nothing), now need a good home.

Here's my Master Power T-70 from ModularTurbo. Great guy to do business with and the best prices. Also my Tial 44mm wastegate and my ebay intercooler.

Here's the beginning of my merge. 2.5" U-bend from Summit cut in half and 1/2" thick T4 flange.

Also my cooling fan setup with dual 12" Zirgo pusher fans. I wanted to keep the stock radiator and these fans fit perfectly. I mounted to fans to the bracket I made from 3/4" flat stock from Home Depot. Since I did away with the A/C I basically made the fan bracket to replace the condensor. It just slides right down into the tabs on the radiator, for a easy in and out.

This is what I came up with to mount my intercooler. I just cut the bumper support and drilled 2 holes in the top. I used 1" flat stock and welded it to make a support for the bottom of the intercooler. The intercooler fit nice and tight(its not going anywhere). The bottom bar across I actually made to connect the flap of the bumper to. I just cut triagular humps off the bumper cover(the old mounting spots) and I'm going to drill holes to put plastic clips or rivets in.

Looking good! I like seeing the DIY truck manifold projects. What CFM are those fans rated for?

I cut my access hole to install my Walbro 255. I haven't put it back in though. I'm debating on wether or not to do twin intake pumps. I'm going keep my SI5 cam and going to only be running 5 psi, just wondering if one pump will be enough. Oh yeah, the nitrous is coming out. I was going to use to spray the intercooler, since I had it, but figured it wouldn't do much. I'll just sell it and use the money towards a meth kit or something.

The fans are 12" Blu Cooling fans rated at 1229 cfm each. I just hope thats enough, cause I know our stock fans move some serious air.

Thanks for the comment on the rims. When I was shoppin for wheels I wanted something not everone else had. Especially where I'm from, I guarentee I will never see these wheels on someone elses car. I have mixed feelings about the wheels though, sometimes I like them and other times I wish I would have gone chrome. Also they are 18's, they are kind of big.

I had the hsw wet kit and I had duals on mine before I started my build. I sold those and it helped pay for a lot of my build. Any particular reason your support is red? What did you use for your alternator relocation?

No my support isn't red because I wrecked my car LOL. I cut my original one before I really planed on what I was doing. I thought of a better idea, so I had found the red one on ebay for $10. The alternator bracket I found on ebay searching around. He had a phone number and email, so I just emailed him and bought directly off of him(not on ebay). I actually bought the alternator braket and some manifold flanges. I guess he sells alot of turbo LSX stuff, including whole kits. The bracket is by far the best setup I have seen yet, I relocates the tensioner pulley to where the alternator used to be. It is a simple and clean design, pretty badass IMO. I'll try and get some better pictures of it and of the tensioner installed.

Here's one of my ideas. I like everything to be simple and clean looking so I decided to ditch my old catch can and make one out of my A/C dryer. I cut it open and gutted it. I'm going to fill the holes and weld these nipples on. I'm just still confused about the whole PCV setup on a turbo car. I figuring of just running this catch can, and I guess I have to pull vacuum from somewhere. Should I weld two nipples on for two lines and use a breather at oil cap? Or should I weld three nipples on and put a breather on catch can? Basically same thing correct? Sorry I'm just confused.

Nice alternator reloaction bracket's. Howcome your's does not have the belt grooves? Or does the kit just do away with the idler pulley and you use it on the tensioner instead?

Yeah, theres no idler pulley, down where the alternator used to be, any more, just the tensioner. I just swaped the grooved pulley with the smooth one.
