Everything looks good, I've have put a gear drive on the thing, and ditched the belt.. oh wait that's what I'm gonna do
It does look good though... should make some good steam, and you certainly have done your work to get the car light enough. Pretty much a copy of KP's builds, and I know how fast his cars were at a good bit heavier then you'll be.
What are you doing for a PCM?

Thanks guys, I use the POR15 on everything, no more spray paint.
Thanks JL, KPs car is sick and basically what I want to build and I know he knows his **** so as gay as it sounds, his car is my insperation, lol. As for the pcm I'm using the stocker. Personially I don't see a beed "yet" to go with somethin different, plus I'm running out of money with buying a house in the next month or two. Plus I see how much power people are making on stock computers so it will be good enough for me.

Sounds good. The stock comptuer, with the available injectors that are out now, probably can go pretty far, just might have to change to a 2 or 3 bar map sensor, other then that I think with the available injectors you can probably make more power then the studs holding the heads down (4 bolt setup) will be able to take without running into problems.
KP was one of the reasons that I am going to make the change too, the level of maintenance to go in the bottom 8 second range with a nitrous car is retarded, but a gear driven XI vortech head unit, is a totally different story. Gear drive takes all the belt issues away, and the new Alston gear drives are a good solid piece.... change the oil in that and the blower on a regular basis and things will be happy for a long time.
Well, long time in racecar terms anyway.

A gear drive would be sick as hell but don't need to be spending thast type of money yet, especially with a d1 blower. Ill toss the idea around when I build the motor and buy a f1r for it, till then ill do what I can to keep the belt slipage down. Only other thing I'm considering before I fire it is change the cam out to something a little bigger. The centi-blower cams from Comp look pretty healthy and one member made some killer power on it.

looking good, keep it up.
Got a Q on the rails, what did you do on the back. I wnat to run a 3/8NPT -6 then a 90* -6 swivel on the back of them. Some said they didnt have room and it was into the firewall. But I think I see that setup on some cars, did you have room or have to change it from the off car pics setup?

thanks did you have any pics of that?
I'm just doing -6 so not sure.
How did you get the under fender meatal off? can you drill out the spot welds? I see some far away pics looks like a lot cut them off, and leave the outer flange still welded on? Is ther somthing I'm missing why they leave it? I'm not finding any good close pics of that metal, the old pics are down. thanks

i dont have any pics of it yet, didnt run my fuel system yet, just have the fittings on the rails for now. Eventually ill get um swapped over but not yet. As far as the metal i used a 4" cut-off wheel on a grinder. You could drill out the spot welds but IMO it would look like *** from the engine bay and reason for leaving on the little lip is to leave it some rigidity so its not sooo flimsy and weak ya know. I have some more pics on my home computer, when i get some time ill get um posted up.

cool thanks. Ya Ive never had the fenders off so not sure what it is like, But Im sure once I get there I'll see why everyone dose it that way. You use air or ele.? I dont have a compressor yet at the new house, I can get a ele makitia but there alot bulky'er you know.
#432
i used a electric grinder with a 4" cut-off wheel, the air would take FOREVER!! You do however go through a few blades, prob 3 per side but at $1.50 ea its not too bad plus the electric cuts through it like butter!!
#438
im hoping to get it started this year sometime. Im buying a house right now so i dont know how much play money ill have after that happens so it might be a little bit still. As far as tuning goes im gonna have Speed Inc. tune it
