Sounds like our set ups are very similar....in both power and tune up.

Has anyone run NOS on a stock bottom end with a PD blower? How long did it last before it went bang?

26 psi? Really? I'm not saying you're a bull ******* or anything, but that sounds insane!! I would almost need to see it to believe it!!!

Keep this on subject guys.

Stock LS1's only. Inputting LS2's would be creating a new variable. I would also appreciate the comments to a minimum.

Sorry, I know this is a sticky and all, I just don't think 26 psi is possible with a stock 180k mile 5.3 short block!!

InconTT
initial psi 6-7 and 450-500 rwhp and at 9psi/550rwhp since about 20k miles.
initial install 7K miles on car
Current Mileage 49,500 = 42500

on the 9psi tune it was overly safe, 11.5:1 a/f and around 16* timing at peak tq, and up to maybe 19-20 by redline. leaned it out to 12.5:1 on the dyno and gained no power, so we set it back.

Motor didn't break per se. Tore it apart to look for an engine tick; and found that I had an improperly heat treated cam that has a sliver of the lobe peel off the edge.

additional mods to motor were good pushrods and springs.

-2001 Camaro
-APS Twin Turbo (Base kit)
-11psi / 630rwhp 640rwtq
-70k miles when installed
-78k miles current

Daily drive on 6psi but it sees 11psi about once a week for a quick thrill. Have made a dozen or so track passes on high boost, runs perfect. CMS SD tuning got me dialed in!

That's sick power from a stock lower end. Have you had alcohol injection from the very beginning? Pretty sure if I had injection my stock motor would still be around. Many ***** out quarter miles passes with 10.1:1 compression, 10 psi boost, and 100 degree heat ain't kind on a motor.

Any track times?

Installed alky inj about 1k mikes after A&A system install. No track times....only two times at the track I drove through my clutches on 3-4 shift and haven't been back yet. My current RPS triple carbon would hold my power easily (rated @ 1400 hp) but still haven't been back to track in 2 years
