So why is folks always seem to recommend staying away from a cog setup on the street? I'd love to switch over to a cog as mine isn't remotely a DD to begin with.

I'm sorry I used the wrong terminology.

I've been asking this very same question. Nobody seems to have a clear answer. The only reason I've heard is the noise factor, but that's on stock/street cars. I heard that GM was about to put a cog on the new ZR1, but decided on an 11 rib belt because of the noise, and that's the only reason.

Hey Bob, in the thirdgen pic there was no power steering pump hooked up. Do you know if it clears the steering box. John.

I heard that it should not be a problem with the power steering, it just isn't shown in this picture. Bob

Yeah with a carb I'd have absolutely zero hesitation to run alcohol and boost with no intercooler.

Does anyone make a F2 mount that is not a off to one side slinger mount? Something that mounts the head directly over the crank so you can use a short and direct belt? They was a vendor at the LSX-shootout last year that had something like that but I can't remember who it was...

I ordered a complete F2 kit today....Procharger has been dying to get some independent results out there and after letting them know id be happy to post lots of pictures and details of the setup on my LSx powered Fox Body they gave me a dirty' cheap deal on it....They even added polishing it for free since they knew there would be alot of internet pictures posted of it.

So looks like ill have an cog drive F2 in about two weeks (they two weeks for the polishing)

damn guess I should have asked about that. I have my cog bracket sitting in my floor right now. I didn't order the whole kit though because I currently have an F1C. But if someone wants to buy my F1C I sure will upgrade to the F2.

Any Clue if this would fit in a GTO??!!! There is more room that in a Fourth Gen F body... and Id like more detail about rotating the head unit with the compressor outlet in an intercooler friendly fashion.

I don't think it will fit in a late model GTO. Bob

Bob, i looked at these kits a while back (they had wanted to use my car for design, but the time frame away from me was not doable) i think using the cog is the best deal, still uses 1 belt for the acces drive-i think in addition to
the basic kit, there is some other stuff needed
i use the vette setup in my A body now, but might try one of the cog's in my Nova/LS
i would think an F1R might fit close to the D1SC, although i think the front sticks out a little more
pretty neat setup though

I know this thread is old but what head unit is this? I want to run this setup with an F1 and a FMIC. Do you have anymore info on this build or others that have done it?
