No need2speed.

Intake wont ship to me until Monday (4-5 day ground). I'm going to see how much it would cost me to overnite it so I can have it by Tuesday. I'm going to pull the dash tonight for the wiring mods.

The last component that I have not been able to track down is the v-band clamp and flange for the downpipe. RPS and 21st Century both have them but the OD is 4.75" and the OD on the turbo is only 4.5". Anybody have a source for me to call?

haha, 21st gets them from me if all else fails come down and get the other flange from me and have one welded to your exhaust housing. That will solve your problem and probably be cheaper than sourcing the big $$ flange from T-netics or PT&E

My buddy ***** just hooked up with me and gave me a pipe from a diesel truck that has a 4.5" OD v-band clamp and flange on it. I am going to try it tonite. The only downside is that it shrinks down to a 3.75" ID. If it works, we will cut the ring off and weld a 4" pipe to it. I'll let you know. I really don't want to cut or weld on the turbo itself.

Flange didn't work. The V-clamp bottoms out on the turbo side. Gonna have to buy Precision's.

very nice build. but i would consider moving the intake pipe after the intercooler slightly away from the turbo. i just think that the heat from the turbo exhaust housing will be heating up the air that went threw the intercooler.

good luck with your build.

Hot side will be getting a cover. It should arrive today.

My other option would have been to plumb it from the other side but then my charge pipe would have been running all along the downpipe. I thought that this way there would be nothing hot but that one corner and the jacket should take care of it.

Precision can stick their $120 flange in their *** sideways. I wasn't aware of how easy it is to remove the exhaust housing. I'll have my friend Dave TIG the 4.75" OD flange right on that bitch.

"I wouldn't be happy if someone stuck the handle of a ping pong paddle up my *** either"

"It wasn't just the handle. I've been shitting pancakes ever since."

Got some stuff today. I got the T4 Flange gasket, Flex-a-lite 240 pusher fans with shroud, boost gauge with chevy emblem in itChevy_anim, BonnarLS1 got me the 2 bar MAP sensor, and the turbo cover. I don't think that this turbo cover is going to work though. It looks a little small.

And here are some pictures of the wire clusterfuck!!

welding steel to cast iron isnt easy, i wouldnt do that.
I might have an extra scrap flange from my build that would work for you.
if you want i can dig though my garage and see if i still have one, Would sell it to you cheap so you dont have to ruin your exhaust housing.

let me know if you have it and how you want for it asap. I would very much preffer to keep it simple and not get into welding on the turbo. Thanks in advance.

I got the flex-a-lite dual pusher fan with shroud (part#FLX-240) installed today. It was a piece of cake to mount and looks good. Hope it works good.

I got the oil drain flange and gasket last week and put it on today. I had to open up the bolt holes a tiny bit on the flange as I couldn't get both bolts started without it feeling like it was going to crossthread. No big deal though.

I ordered a generic T4 exhaust cover from Summit. It was a little small. I cut it and spread it open and it will work for now.

I am having a little bit of difficulty clocking the exhaust housing. It appears to only be held together with the v-band clamp but even after taking the clamp all the way off, it wouldn't budge. I tried twisting and sliding and nothing. I put lots of WD40 in there also. Nothing. Do I need to get aggresive with it? Maybe a BFH is required?

Also I got my 2 bar map sensor AC Delco Part# 213-1631 . I kind of had a hard time finding this number so I figured I'd share.

^^^^^Don't mind this guy.

10 psi with that 88 is a lot more that 10 psi with some 67 or 70mm turbo most people use.

Yeah, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The only problem is the web of wiring that is in my way. After some of the posts on here, on the other forum, and PM's, I decided to run over there this morning and try the flange that I bought from dman for the exhaust housing and actually crank it down to see if it would bite.

This is why I didn't think that it would work. Notice how much larger the OD is on the shinny flange sitting under the turbo.

I went ahead and cranked it down and sure as ****, it's on there good.

The bad news is that the exhaust housing will not clock. I wacked it with a big hammer and it wouldn't break loose. The good news is that the oil feed is only 20* or so off center and that is where it is staying. Since I dont have to weld the exhaust flange now, I'm not gonna worry about it.

So I decided to put it all together and double check everything. Check out the gap between the turbo cover and the waterpump pulley and the gap at the radiator. Looks almost like we did some serious measuring. I pretty much got lucky that it landed right in the center.

I ended up with an extra 3 1/2" 90* tube so I stuffed it in the exhaust just to see how it would look finished. I will be using a 4" down pipe though.

I am just waiting for the alternator relocation bracket, the FiberTuned intake which will be here this Wednesday and some wiring work.
