Default Patriot LQ9 vs. TFS 235 with FI?

I did a search and couldnt find the answers or opinions about this topic.

I am putting an A&A supercharger on my new forged 402 (after engine break in of course) and need to know the pros, cons, and general FYI about these two head options?

I do realize that the TFS is a 235 with 72cc and the LQ9 is a 227 with a 72cc. I also am fairly sure that the TFS will make more power through the range BUT truthfully if I make 650whp it is just as good as 700whp. I will have issues holding 650 on the street I am sure.................soooooooo what is your opinion or experience about these heads vs. one another?

Thanks

PP LQ9

I would lean more towards the Trick Flow myself.

I agree however the trickflow are $2400 and the PP are $1300. Is it worth the extra money? Will anything else but max power be affected?

Not planning to run high boost. I want to stay off the meth also so cant push too hard according to my installer/ tuner. He says 650-700 is easily achievable without pushing it.

I just need to save a little money somewhere and I am not going to find a better deal on a SC so I cant wait on that purchase.

Damn those are only stage 2, I would go with the stage 3 head but that is pretty impressive, the heads didnt seem to hurt anything huh. I will of course not have an F1 head unit so if the Vortech S trim gets me to 650 it is all good. That is only 125-150HP which I hope is doable without meth.

Trickflow is definetley good if you have the money but, If your trying to be a baller on a budget then I would go with the patriots. Ive had good luck with them.

I have had nothing but good luck with mine. The only thing holding me back from making more power is my stock internals. The tune is set pretty safe.

To answer some PM's

Yes i did start to push a lil water each pass making that kind of power.... Patriot heads, 12 point heads studs and 6.0L MLS gaskets.

Im sure if we O-ringed the heads and block and ran a copper gasket it could take a lil more...... if people are really serious about HP there is no comparing 4 bolt to 6 bolt setups.... there the only way to go for high HP.

No problem man and you should definitely listen to OUTLAWZ RACING, Exotic performance plus and NASTY those guys will help a lot and have more experience than me.

Good luck and keep us updated with the new project.

I plan on using the PP stage 3 heads with my build..I think the TFS would only be a nice advantage if your pushing 800RWHP which is very hard to maintain on the street. I'm shooting for 650-700rwhp as well
