Here is my thing with the suspension.let's say I could do a 1.5 60 which
I've done. can it get much better than that on a footbrake?

I was thinking of locking the verter in 3rd at about 5800rpm. It just seems
With kinda power my mph is down.

You should be able to get into the 1.4's with suspension work. What was your 1/8th mile et and mph?

i think your mph is close but a tad low. buuuut this is a full weight car right? then add all the stuff you added and thats a heavy ride. you shoul be able to get the 60 down into the 1.3's and that will show big gains on the top end.

I went from high 1.5's to a 1.40 last night (my best so far, 4,000lb car with me in it) with getting it setup properly suspensions wise. I know turbo cars are different, but when my car was making 650/640 it was running 10.60's at 125, again, it weighs 3966 with me in it, surely yours is lighter. An extra 130RWHP got me 10.02 at 131 and it's just seat time from a 9. My suggestion: get some suspension, don't mess with power, and get it dialed in where it's at, then once you've got the most out of it, up the boost if you can.

I believe so. They run the fans in front on the radiator instead of behind.

Any updates?

Are you dead hooking to those 60' numbers or are you having traction issues? MPH will increase and 60' will decrease if you could leave on some boost. In order to build a little boost on the line, get yourself a 2 step. They are amazing. I only get about 2-3 psi on the tbrake at 4K RPM but I can build almost 10 psi on the 2 step without even messing with the timing. If you're footbraking, you are probably around 3K RPM launch.

Nice numbers Alex. I think you should leave it alone and just play with launch and shift points. There's more in it.

What were your shift points for the last run you did? With how much the torque is falling off in the upper rpms maybe you should try shifting sooner, like about 5600-5800 or so???

Sorry I didnt get back to this thread in a while. A couple weeks ago i cracked a piston by detenation so the motor is at the machine shop right now.

Im not done yet for the season yet. The motor will be put back together basically the same way. But for the next round of mods is going to consist of installing a t-brake/2 step. Trans is at the shop right now and should be back in a week, already have the 2 step.

Im also adding a meth kit to keep those iats down, thats the main reason i blew this motor. 200 iats @ 15 degrees timing on pump gas = i learned a leason in tuning.

With the meth im going to run 18psi instead of the 15.5psi i ran to hit 10.6 @130.

So overall im pretty confident. Im done racing when its 90 out. Ill be back in september to see what all the new mods will do.

You might not want to push your luck so much when you get it back together....several people have blown up there cars on that kinda of boost with pumpgas and meth. Maybe just use a splash of unleaded race fuel above 16 psi or so?

Ease up on the boost for now. At 15 lbs of boost my car goes 8.9's all day. Use some lead in the gas at the track! I have about 130 gallons of c16 if you need some. You need to get your 60' down, at least in the high 1.3's. Your 60' is killing you. It also sounds like you need a good intercooler, skip the meth. I would aslo get a boost converter. Your car should run 9's for fun. You'll get it there.

lastls1,

Im going to have a t-brake and 2 step next time out so i think that should take care of the 60 foot. Also what does your car weigh to run 8.9 with 15lbs. Mines about 3800lb.

Not sure why my intercooler wasnt working so well that day. Its a huge 4inch thick cooler.

Alex you need to have your tuning looked at. You should have the timing reduce once your IAT's get real high.

What compression is your engine? My old setup went 10.00@139mph on pump gas though my car was probably 300-400 lbs lighter than yours, and my engine was 8:1.

The first thing you have to worry about is running too hot, the 2nd is hitting the track to run a better number.
