Mustang dyno may have been tight, while the Dynojet a bit loose, more air in the tires on the Dynojet, no fan on the intercooler on the Mustang dyno, may have had wheelspin on the Mustang dyno, the list goes on and on lol.
I bet it goes 140mph+ at the track though, and that's all that counts in the real world.

The problem is this will constantly turn into an argument between "Mustang" dyno guys and "Dynojet" guys.
The numbers do not matter, the dyno is a tuning tool plain and simple.

They only real dyno that is a measure of performance doesn't fit in a building, it's 1320' long. I ignore the "Horse Power" numbers I get on the dyno with my car except for seeing if a change I've made makes the graph go up/down or change shape. Adding a trans like a Th400 into the mix makes the numbers and graph shape even more interesting.

I can give you another comparison. Awhile back Brent dyno tuned my car at EPP. It made 650, I then had it dynoed on a Dynojet with no changes and it made 687.

Interesting Bob. I've heard the 10% dif before, but I also thought WinPep 7 for the DynoJet corrected some of that. Looks like your Mustang is dialed in pretty close by the 1/4 numbers.

interesting...... I actually tried to find this thread yesterday I think. Sat night we dynoed three cars. All on an all wheel drive mustang. We ofcourse use it as a rwd only. Its common that if you dyno on it in vegas that youll probably get your lowest numbers. No big deal to me, its for tuning. I dont even care if it measures hp or garflabs.
Anyways, as the cars dynoed, in a over 100 degree shop, all the numbers where slightly low. Only slightly, like 5 - 10 % compared to other people dynojet numbers. Anyways, two of the three are geared really high. All m6 cars, one with 3.42's and a 29.4 inch tall tire, one with 3.08's and the m6...All pulls were in 4th gear , and those two made pulls to 155 mph in 4th gear.
Since mustangs account for speed....what do they account for? How does it change the results? I ve expirimented with changing weight with out much change in results. The mustang seems to be very consistent, the basic reason I like using it.
In the past, Ive seen a car dyno 539 on the mustang I speak of, and 669 on a dynojet across town. The owner thought it was going to make over 700 on teh mustang. There is another dyno in town that I can only guess is about 2x high......but lots of happy customers.
Zombiess car has only made 600 once on the mustang, but runs 136 mph @ 3890 lbs.
