I got in touch with a local APS installer (local LSX shop) and they told me that they could install an APS twin turbo kit for a 98 camaro (lied and said I still had one) this December if I wanted. I think that's sort of odd given what Peter has said.

Oh yeah,

Were those turbos original mits or not???

My turbos made it almost a year and I was told over and over that I was crazy for wanting a bigger turbo for my 403, that It would make more power than I could ever want, that it was big enough, blah blah blah, when I finally fix the crappy inlet hose so I could run more than 8 Pounds of Boost, within 400 miles and 15 dragstrip passes at higher (they would only make 14) boost they started smoking so bad I thought the engine had broken something.
THEY SUCK
SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK.

I asked for bigger ones from the start and was told they would never be offered, within a month of receiving my kit the released the Extream kit

Going by the pictures on APS's website and the pictures posted on this forum, they are 100% NOT mitsubishi turbos.

It even states on there website "based on mitsubishi turbos...". These are just run of the mill $100 chinese knock-offs.

I have to say IMO, with better turbos this would be one of the best designed TT systems for F-bodies. All components are in ideal locations, use strong cast manifolds, very nice intercooler (probably built in china also) and has proven to make power. I have no idea why they went with knock off turbos. Huge mistake.

All APS castings are designed, cast, heat treated and machined in Australia,

Oh people understand you stupid **** but they should not be out the cost of overseas shipping to return your **** product. You should make eletronic labels & all they should have to do is drop them off boxed up to be shipped out. Not pay their own shipping not even knowing if your gonna do anything about the problem.

You sir are a ****** idiot when it comes to business, customer service & just all around in general.

And he continues to ignore the question of whether the turbos are knock off's...

The website makes them sound like the turbos are soooo amazing and high tech, lol.

Twin, extreme efficiency, super compact, liquid cooled turbochargers with a custom APS aerodynamic configuration
Why doesn't he back up the turbos if they're so good?

Well here's the fact guys. Peter is obviously not going to do anything or admit anything. He is a true business man, he's made the money and he's denied all flaws and faults affiliated with his company's product, keeping the company out of danger.

haha I'm sorry Peter but if you met any of these guys at a show, they would ask you 1 question, get tired of your voice and bull ****, and knock your head off. You have really pissed off a majority of the LS1tech family and i can guarentee their business and time will be devoted to much more efficient and customer based companies.

Peter if you really think that this site is all about F-bodies... your sadly mistaken. The fact is this site covers more of the automotive industry than you think. People come to this site even with an import to gain knowledge, references, and ideas from various sides of the table (imports, muscle, luxury, exotics, off-road, etc). The amount of people that visit this site every day is unbelievable. With what you have posted in this thread has proved that you and your company cannot be trusted or relied upon. You sold yourself short near the bottom of the market, and i can easily say it still hasnt hit rock bottom! Your in for a treat.

I believe you that your intercoolers may be cast locally and MAYBE the T & C housings on the turbos. Where do you source the CHRAs from?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...-failures.html

In 1 week on 1 forum on 1 poll, 14/17 people who voted said they had failures. I'm fairly certain that statistic isn't the total number of failures of this kit/
How many kits have you sold? How many people have reported (to you) failed turbos?

Guys - Peter is just taunting you - let it go. Their website lists quite a few US Dealers. How many of their dealers have been contacted and what have THEY been told? Could the dealers find out more about the turbos? Surely there must be someone on this site that is close to APS in australia that could get us some real info or make a personal visit? Has any real expert actually examined the turbos to determine quality (i suppose LG has but i don't recall their assessment)?

And then, assuming we "confirm" they are chinese knockoffs, what can and will be done with that info?

At this point i will continue to beat the **** out of mine until they go. Disappointing, for sure, but the reality is the APS fbody owners need to budget for new turbos. I hope the old cliche of "winning the battle but losing the war" holds true for APS and that they get their just reward (or lack thereof).

Do you still acknowledge that you sold these kits with mitsu (MHI) turbochargers like you did when you first marketed them?

When I asked him that on LS1GTO, he said that the Chinese company must have stolen their pictures

It's very easy for any Chinese company to take pictures from any web site and post on their web site to solicit potential business. Good luck trying to source out our products from China..............you'll be looking fo a long time as China is a long way from Australia........lol.
