Angry Enough with the 6 speed

tired of this ****, I can't win.

I haven't really driven my car right since I put in the new motor/turbos, because everytime I get everything running 100%, I blow the tranny or some other bullshit.

here is a recap of events since this new setup:
-60-130 jan 08, broke t56
-60-130 march of 08, broke t56
-1/4 mile run April 08, broke t56
-1/4 mile december 08, blew clutch
-Feb 09, bent axles.
-March of 09, alternator/belt problems for 4 weeks, finaly got the speed inc kit and fixed it, at least not drivetrain related.
-May 09, 60-130 and 1/4 mile, car felt like a dog, lots of lag, I was pissed, about to part it out, lost a ttop at the track also. Let the car sit.
-july 09, fixed car, found massive leak, intercooler pipe was completely off.
-August 09, took it for a test drive, developed coolant leak on the vent plugs on the back of the head, fixed, went back out for a test drive, did one pull, felt awesome, like it hasn't felt in well over a year, I guess the ic pipe had been off for a while lol, second pull, rolled on from 2nd gear and BAM! G"IGDKFSHLYH4$E"Gkkehgegw%T$H broke the t56 again it literally didnt' last 1/2 mile from my shop

wtf... just can't seem to keep it together

Its time to go auto now... **** t56s...

Give Greg at FTI a call. He can set you up with a great package on a Glide or a TH400.

I'm definitely not making the power you're making, but my Exo-Skel and sixspeedinc tranny are holding up fine.

That roll from 2nd was on street tires/DR's? WTF? I don't get it...

I only made 430rwhp on my six speed GTO and it ate a few gears. Then I went TH400 and never looked back. I think stalled auto cars are way more fun to drive on the street. Manuals are good for road racing and that's about it. I give props to guys that can drive their six speed cars to awesome 60ft's and 1/4 miles though. I sucked at it.

Sad to hear of all your luck Tiago.. I definitely feel ya on not getting a break from breaking ****! How much power are ya trying to push thru that T56 dude? I love driving a 6 speed on the street, but its definitely no fun when you are breaking stuff! Especially when its the same thing over and over I hope you have way better luck with whatever setup you decide to go with next man..

i was/am a T56 lover and i just made the swap, FINALLY, about 3 weeks ago.....

WELLLLL worth it and i haven't looked back. after frustration and broken parts at the track for years, i LOVE going to the track now. from 10.5 to COASTING to a 9.5 first time out (converter wayyyyy too loose), on only 14psi... 8 second street car, can't complain there. and the fun factor is still there

without a doubt, do it

I have 3 th400's waiting for me, I know the T-56 is gonna go soon. They cost so much to build and are still like glass. I think an auto is a good call on your part.

Tiago your car is really weird I've seen a couple of cars with over 900rwhp and still running T56.

Who build your T56??
Hunter on here ran over 900rwhp with his old white SS with stock T56

What clutch??
Yes your car will run better at 1/4 but not Texas mile LOL

With your setup and auto mid 8s shouldnt be a problem.
I Say go auto since your going TT With the Viper

So what broke out of curiousity. My t56 is doing ok so far but only running maybe 600 to 650 thru it. Tex twin also seems to be working ok. They are both sold to buddy so being nice to them. Am looking forward to my built 4l80 now. Six speeds are ok but just tired of them I guess. Traffic and clutches and hydraulics and all that crap.

Turbo 400 is defintely a good option if you dont' need overdrive and computer shifting.

its in the 1030-1050 rw range, but it let go at 8 psi today as the boost was coming on, couldn't have been making more than 800 rw at that moment.... usually it lets go at full boost .. I guess it could have been weakened over time. This tranny deffinately lasted me the longest out of all of them.

Hussam,
Sixspeedsinc built all my trannies. I use a Spec twin clutch, its been good over all, I can't complain about it.

Hunter's old car had small cubes and turbos in comparison 370? with twin 67s I believe it was. My STOCK tranny was happy at 950 rw with the old 346 and twin 70mm turbos. Now I can't keep one alive at only 100 rw more, because its a 427 with twin 76s, the TQ is just too much I guess.

I think I would have more fun with it running well at the 1/4 than the mile lol.

Ive done it all except GForce parts, refuse to pay that kind of money with no warranty. I'll put an auto in it for the price of the Gforce parts.

With that much power I would definitely do a glide. Before anybody says what does he weigh, there are pig fat Monaro's down under using glides with success. Picked up et and mph by switching from a TH400 to a glide. Only one shift ftw.

I'd do an 80. Overdrive just like stock and it'll hold your power, look at Mightymouse and Cablebandit.

I'm sorry to hear about your continuous bad luck with T56's... I never broke one like that... but I never ran any where near 1k hp... I sold my semi built T56 and bought a th400 and 3200 PTC from a local tranny guy... we'll see how it goes

good luck bro

"shouldn't" be that bad, especially since you don't DD the car
