Default Turbo Setup

What would be a good turbo for this setup?

A forged (all stroke) 382

I want a turbo that the boost will kickin after the major torque curve ends to avoid terrible traction. Does this sound good? Also, How good are these for revving? I have heard they could rev high? Please feel free to make comments.

P.S. The turbo you reccomend, When would I see the boost kick in?

Sorry for the questions, but Im a turbo retard.

Thanks

if you want delayed boost so to speak then go with a centrifugal supercharger and not a turbo. Turbo=instant TQ at low RPM's

Yeah, a centrifugal blower sounds like what you'd want.

Your tires will wait until about 4500rpm before they go up in smoke with that. That was the strangest thing to get traction off the line and when the boost finally came in the tires went bye-bye (that was with 4.5-5psi on a stock 346ci).

You could run a PT88, that would lag a bit more off the line to get you out of the hole. Personally I like using big twins, gives you a lot more options to choose how much lag you want and the RPM range you're gonna run your motor. I'm running twin .58 housings on my turbos right now and it's spooling by 3300, and it just boils the tires. I bought some .68 and .81 housings though, I think .81's will be perfect to lag me off the line but give nasty top end.

Buy Corky Bells' Maximim boost... take a few minutes to foolow some of the equations so you can do some mapping... It's a decent guideline. It may help, but dont get me wrong, aasking here in the forum is a wealth of good opinion too!

I'd say a 383 can pump pretty good air and should put you in a t-76 minimum, but know it can be a 10-15k proposition real quick if you need chasis, rear, fuel and cpu additions.
