OK....yes it is going to happen. I own the car but I don't want to disclose too much info until the right time. It's going to be a 4.0 whipple on a 427LSX.
That's it for now.

talk about torque. If you could make that thing hook launching out of the hole it would be a hell of a ride

a maggie will actually get you this if its all you want. runs out of steam somewhere in the 550-600 rwhp range if you do everything to get the most out of it. but i agree a TS blower would be much better

That's the thing. From what I've read about the maggie kits is that if you pick the right cam, heads, headers and spin the supercharger as quick as you can, you'll around 525-550hp. Which isn't bad, but if I can get a larger whipple to work, and spin it half as fast and make more power, than that's the route I'd like to go.

and ill be right there with you. if this becomes a reality id gladly pick it over any turbo or centri blower setup. sounds like it'll be a long and complicated install, which is right up my alley

i'm sure a little hacking will be involved, but probably only as much as the maggie, thats if u space the k-member and mod the motor mounts to lower the engine some more. so i can see a 2.9 fitting.

From looking at the drawings on the whipple site, there isnt a large dif. in actual size of the blowers going from 2.9-4.0
2.9 is 15.28L X 5.14T X 7.88W
3.3 is 15.16L X 6.24T X 9W
4.0 is 16.09L X 6.24T x 9W

Unless the intake is arranged differently, Going from a 4.0L to a 2.9 L will only gain -1" lenght and -1" height. The width isnt really an issue as far as I can tell.

i would think we would need to worry about the height more then anything cuz of the cowl.

I hope you're right...that enough people don't want the sawzall kit.......cause it will be a one of a kind build. That was what I was shooting for. Trying to be different.

Exactly. Trim up the sheet metal, space down the k-member and make this work. For comparison sake, we are talking about 2.9-4.0L displacement blowers, but what size is the Maggie 122? Is that a 1.2L?

WHY not just go with a ZR1 Blower 2300. It will work with some massaging. U got to change a couple things , and it would be hole lot less!!!

I did lower my k-member. I made some spacers for the kmember, sway bar, n trans to keep things aligned. Cut the cowl lil bit and everything came out great.

the big deal about the whipple (twin screw) compared to the maggie (roots) is that it is a much more efficient and can handle higher power levels without just blowing hot air. maggie 112's which is the only real option at the moment are done at 11-12 psi compared to upwards of 20+psi on a whipple. they also make more power throughout the powerband typically.

Does anyone know if the Whipple intercooler is much bigger then the KB? The Whipple looks to add more height to the system to me compared to the KB. Reading some of the KB threads made it seem that IAT were somewhat high with that system.
