i dont like that due to extra heat thats generated from the header itself. to much heat = bad for performance.

I haven't heard of a side-mount kit for cars, most all kits now bolt on inplace of the intake manifold.

Here is a pic of a side-mount kit for a GM Truck.

A simple 2-wall SS heat shield with a 1/4" air gap effectively makes it no hotter a location than the top of the motor.

The new Whipples are going to released soon. Front feed design with a jackshaft and rear gear drive.

Im getting a bit less enthusiastic for the fbody kit, it seems as if you have to reenact texas chainsaw massacre on your car to get it to fit, lol. I know you would have always had to cut, but that seems a bit too much for me.

u can always do k-member spacers, switch to dry sump and mod the motormounts to death to drop the motor enough to clear w/o cutting. but i think w/ the 2.9 ur still gonna need to cut. it would still be worth it to have one of these babies under the hood.

keep in mind those CAD pics are for the 2010 camaro. the f-body ls1 tuner kit will be very similar.

oh i forgot. what do stock 5.3L trucks typically dyno at? 250ish whp? cuz this 2.9L whipple made 440whp and 424wtq on stock 5.3L tahoo at 8psi. so if its dynoing mid 200's stock then a near 200whp gain is nice

^ Yeah, LS1tech imbeds them for you now. I think it's pretty cool. It makes it a lot easier on me to browse on my phone.

In the above rendering.

You got to take the blower off to change the jackshaft pulley? Come on!

its not that we dont think it will make power, cuz we all know a TS blower on any LSx motor will make huge numbers. the problem is and always will be the cowl. itll work great on a truck, cuz it can fit under their cowl easy. us, not so much.

If you look at that picture, it looks like the highest point is in front of the #6 coil pack. That might not be that far under the cowl of a 4th gen f-body. So it might mean trimming back an inch or so for clearance, which for instant torque is a fair compromise in my book.

Quick Reply: whipple f-body kit :D
