Whats wrong with these Brian? 270 cc intake rectangle port, titanium intake valves, titanium or inconel exhaust, and re-use your springs and rockers. I'm sure Shawn would give you a killer deal...

Or these in 275 or 305 seems like that would be kinda big, but your using it in an all out drag racing application, so myself if I had a 106mm and 427 cubes I'd go 305 lol, bigger is better right
sarcasm detected hopefully.

Dang you Phil why did you quote that I get you and Brian mixed up all the time, I did it in the live feed when Brian was racing, I knew you had a Marcella Intake and that Brian had a Super Vic, but I said something like, "Brian has a lot of money in that intake", to Shawn. I got lol'd at. Funny thing is he said he may as well cuz he shawn has ported the crap out of it.

as far as head go, we will match the heads to the engine and they way we like the power curve. I can assure you they won't be anything crazy. In fact some people will probably wonder why we don't use something much bigger. The 265's were a pretty weird head, real large runner and a small valve(2.100)

well...failure diagnosis is in...
Shortblock looks good. Going to get at least new rings and bearings. Heads are JUNK.
Looks like COP is coming off the car and going with a dizzy. We think timing jumped at some point. straps on plugs 3, 5, and 7 were burnt.
Crack in passenger head (across the plug holes)

In determining the chicken or the egg... You mentioned that you were fighting with a weak head seal during the race. Did the O ring fail inbetween the chambers or did the head lift and vent through the weakest point?
EDIT: I've been doing some research on your double O ring setup and through doing some reading I've figured out how you have it setup. I'm not interested in numbers, but simply wondering how you tested which setup worked the best? As in, .045, .060, .080 compressed gasket area between the rings? Could you still theoretically find a stronger seal? I'm wondering and trying to figure out why the gasket failed. Tune, fuel, etc..?

what Brian thought was a head gasket leak was probably more than likely a hairline crack in the cylinder head. It was seeping water into the one cylinder,we'll never know exactly what it was now.
with 3 sparkplug tips burned off, a hole burned through one combustion chamber and cracked around the valve seat,it's pretty clear the timing spiked and caused severe detonation in the engine. The detonation cracked the head along the bolt holes and lifted the head.
as far as a stronger seal-there isn't one except for welding the heads to the block.. not sure how you figured out how it is set up as nobody else really knows. The testing was done over a five year period of trial and error on my 2000+ hp sbc. As noted above, the gasket didn't fail, the head cracked and lifted due to severe detonation.

We believe the COP spiked timing...at least thats what the evidence points to. I'm not the only one who's had this issue. There's obviously a reason all the big turbo guys have switched to distributors

fueling was more than safe on all the passes.
