If the guy kept boost around 5 psi, and if he monitored his fuel pressure closely (those initial Incon regulators were suspect), and if he always used 93 octane, then with the stock tune and injectors, he should be OK on cars with 28lb injectors. Probably 4 psi on 26lb ones. That's a lot of ifs.
If it has bigger injectors now, all bets are off. You could never tell if someone made a major edit mistake or translator mistake or whatever, and has since corrected it.
The leakdown is a great idea, but I don't know if it could detect a weakened piston/ring system.
You are much better off buying the bare kit, and a car that never had FI.
I don't think edit was out in 2000. It might have been out, but not in widespread use. And if it was, who's to say it was done right the first time anyway.
