I say rpm but thats just an opinion. On the street do you mean freeway, backroads or stoplight to stoplight? I would just build a setup that would give me the best low to mid-range power, that way you will be covered in the event that you have a chance for a run, regrardless of the situation.

Boost by rpm sounds pretty good on street. Likely not bad at track . But for track think time or gear would be best. By gear should also work out not bad on street. By time on street don't sound too good.

Without a doubt by GEAR. Cars always have traction problems in the lower gears.

So question I have is how can my eboost do it by gear since have an auto and what do I have to do to make it work. Think in six speed you have to put microswitches on /in the trans?? what do you have to do in an auto.

If you have a manual valve body transmission then you need to do it with micro switches as well. If its electronic you better get a schematic and some relays to make it work properly, but its do-able.

I have electronic 4l80. So wish someone would do boost by gear on auto on an eboost2 and show me exactly how to do it. It sounds like the best of the three rpm, time and gear.
Time as said is only good at track. Rpm ok on street but gear think would great all the time.

If my stock motor does not take a poop at the track tomorrow I will probably do it to my car that also has a electronic 4l80e sometime soon.

We are talking of ramping boost .Generally three ways..by rpm,by time ,by gear.

So by gear we would have on turbo with say 7psi spring..
7 in 1st, 10 second, 12 third ,15 fourth on six speed manual car.
Auto maybe 7, 12, 15.

Now by time we could have say 7psi for first two seconds, 10psi for next three, 12psi for next three, 15pis for last two in a 10 second car.

By rpm something like 7psi 3000, 10psi4000, 12psi 5000, 15psi 60000

Just examples..
Is that clearer now. Rpm as said is easy to get working. One wire on eboost goes to tach output on ecu..
Time sounds like you need to hook up couple switches. not sure if momentary or on/off.
But no clue how to hook up gear based boost on my computer controlled 4l80.

they put littel microswitches on the manual cars for this.

I think Lingenfelter had a box for Corvette manual that could do boost per gear.

So has anyone ever used and eboost on computer shifted auto to give boost per gear.I assume mighty uses his eboost for monitoring and uses his big stuff three for boost control or am I wrong Mightymouse?

I guess could be happy with rpm control on the street and time control at track maybe but gear again seems like it could be best for both. Also you have to hook up those external switches to the eboost to use time control? And do they have to be momentary both or one on /off or what exactly.

With eboost2 and external switches you can program boost per gear and boost per rpm per gear. Switches will engage set points 1-4 and each set point can be adjusted duty cycle vs rpm if desired.

I ran boost per gear in my Z06 which worked great.
