JGS wastegates
#2
A bunch of guys run them. Will the search feature let you just put in JGS and choose titles only? Perdieu runs one on his single 76mm setup. I also just so happen to have two brand new 50mm ones for sale in the for sale section for $225 each. They are $375 from JGS.

Yeah a search for JGS wastegate results in pages of junk i really dont want to sift through.. so i made a thread lol... I have heard that they are a decent product from some and others just say to man up for the Tial 44 WG.. just looking for people who have ACTUAL experience with them, rather than regurgitated "oh i heard this, he said that" kind of stuff

I just got mine installed recently. I'm running the 60mm gate. Rock solid control. I see about 7 psi max on the spring and currently have it set on 15 psi on the boost controller with CO2.

In the interest of not making another thread...
with a 76mm turbo on stock cubes @ less than 10 psi (for the time being, eventually up to 15 ish psi), would a 38mm wastegate be sufficient?

A lot also depends on wastegate placement whether it will be ok or not. I would say just get a 44 or bigger just to be safe at that low boost level.

I wouldn't even try a 44mm. I tried the Tial 44mm first and I couldn't keep boost under 15psi. Granted my placement is not optimal. The smaller the exhaust housing on the turbo the more wastegate you will need to keep pressure down.

We keep all the JGS gates in stock, also Tial and Turbosmart. Any of those 3 will work for your app. The turbosmart 45 is probably the best in that size we have tested so far. The JGS 40 is a nice piece as well though for the guys on a budget.

I have had problems controlling less then 14 psi with several of the 38mm gates that people sell with fairly optimal positioning.

On my friends old hi-flow setup with a 76gts he was running a 38mm wg..

What i am getting at is the QUALITY up to par with the Tial and Turbosmart pieces? A wastegate is a pretty important piece of hardware. I just have the cliche in my mind "you get what you pay for"...

They wouldn't be as much as Tial and Turbosmart if they were pieces of ****. I'm sure Josh wouldn't run **** stuff in his kits either. If you're not comfortable with them, get a Tial or Turbosmart.
