So basically it comes down to airflow restriction, the intake components before the blower cannot keep up with the air demand that the blower needs at higher RPM's. Makes sense.

And for the love of god will people stop talking about putting turbos on top of the blower, its a restriction, you will NOT make some uber awesome hp doing this.
The way to do a twin turbo and supercharger setup, and the ZR1 is one of the few V8s that let you do this, is to bypass the SC once the turbos are spooled up.

The idea is very simple, run the SC at lower rpm to give instant torque and boost. then once the turbos start to spool and put a positive presure before the SC, you open a valve that will bypass the SC direct the air into the intake (or the chaergecooler in the ZR1 case).

This way the SC is not restricting the turbos at higher rpm yet you still get instant boost with little to no lag.

'what about the power the SC will take?' well the SC wont actually be doing anything, just spinning away nice and freely as the presure will be the same on both sides of the blower.

Now that would be a KILLER setup! just have to find somewhere to stick 2 76++mm turbos!

They are the stock LS9 heads that I had "Slick Rick" at NRC do the work on. All the valves are factory only changing the springs and retainers.

As far as the injectors, we had the stock ones modified to I think 80 psi

I thought the same thing with all the 9's at the end, but 2010 is a new year, so lets see what comes home this year.

How much total boost? I am thinking of running the Lsa heads and was wondering how much PSI you think they can handle.

Do you have any idea how big the bypass valve is? The answer is - not very big. It would basically be like putting a 2" throttle body on the car, of course some air would still be going through the rotors, but it simply won't work correctly.

so...the LS9 is a forged 377 with a 9.1:1 CR...I wonder how much GM will sell it for minus the blower, the heads should be able to use a LSX intake. Just when I tought the LS7 was the perfect GM small block...

I am also on the spray it wagon, do it.

I bet if you hit it with a little 100 shot it will pickup 160 and 200 tq (depending on how low you spray it)

Totally true mate. you would have to run a seperate bypass valve, perf. one about the same size as the throttle body.
