Best turbo LM7 cam
You read the title...
Include specs and your reasons why (dyno proven, best bang for the buck, time slips...) might as well toss in which turbo also. But I'm planning on a 76BB tubo

You need to use the search feature of this forum. The reason it is on here is so we dont have to answer the same questions over and over. I believe the LM7 is a 5.3L, so search 5.3L turbo cam and read up. This has been brought up before...

I ask just to get a general idea of what people are running and why, I want to hear their "arguments" for their cams. There seems to be two different camps.. guys who like identical intake and exhaust durration, and guys who like must more exhaust.
reamo04 suggested a cam witha longer intake, and a tighter LSA than most I see, but he didn't say why Chime back in!
The coveted cam is the '02-'04 C5 ZO6 cam, 204/218 on a 117.5 LSA with the MP70 it's proven to 600rwhp. If you're getting a new cam though, I think you should always look at a custom grind option... just wanted to see what's out there, and how much HP guys are making with it...
This will go in an '86 rx7 (~2800lbs), backed by a very built 2004r with a locking converter that stalls around 3000rpm.

The cam I said I had specced out by predatorz. His reasoning behind it, it will be gently on valvetrain, sound near stock, idle great, and be torque with a pretty flat curve if you choose to run it N.A. It is the cam he uses personally. It also keeps you around stock redline, which will be perfect if you are using the MP-T70. You will see significant gains with it over he z06 as well, and it wont drop like a rock at 5500.

Hmm the z06 cars have pretty high redlines so can't see them dropping out at higher rpms. Also the new z1R cam looks pretty good and cheap and pretty sure it bolts right in.
Fact lingenfelter is now using it think in pretty much all their Turbo builds instead of the previous gt7 cams that were custom ground by comp and were very similar also to the later z06 cams in spec.
I wish had some dyno numbers with my current cam to see how it pulls up top once change out my turbos. Well maybe in a few months.
Also what people think might be cam dropping off at high rpm may be other things.

What kind of power are you seeing with your grinds hellbents10? and how much are they ($$)? I've heard the new zr1 cam will be a bit much for the "little" 5.3L Any dyno charts of the zo6 cam? I figure anything around a .550 lift and a 2-teens durration with a +113 LSA

I know any out the box cam these companies is offer will get me to my power goals, hell stock cam will get me there but it'll be less stress for the motor and less boost to make the same power. Just was wondering what people were running as I see talks about the triple 12,ss2, lil John motor sports, and tick performance. The ss2 has a nice price point and since its a fun car and I'm not out to break records or win money it seems good for my project. Just getting opinions from others before pulling the trigger. I cam from the sr20 world were everyone runs the same cam pretty much. Thanks for everyone's input. I'll think on it, still haven't bought anything except trunnion upgrade and pac1218 springs.

I don't even have my engine in my car so I have no results concerning my build. Forged LS6 above 10:1 CR with a 7878 Billet turbo. Tick LS1 Stage 2 turbo cam is what I bought after talking to Tick.
If I had a 5.3 junkyard build I'd probably go with a Summit Pro LS cam and possibly try the 8713 Truck cam since it's inexpensive, lower lift, and I think it would be a well mannered cam. Also, I'd be okay with being a guinea pig and pairing that cam with a turbo.
