The blower alone is actually shorter than the LS1 intake according to some literature I saw in Super Rod. The intercooler is what would be the deal breaker.
I'm sure they could develop a IC with a lower height. It woudl probably be less efficient though.

That'd be pretty tough considering they'd have to route the air out from underneath the ROOTS blower and down to the ICs and then have it come back up and into the heads.
This type of blower replaces the intake. It's not separate like an ATI or Vortech.
However I believe BMW did something similar to what you are talking about with the Mini Cooper S.
I think that with a good heat exchanger design on the blower end and on the radiator end efficiency can be kept similar even if the IC was reduced to half height.A surfactant such as water wetter or the use of a non aqueous propylene glycol like Evans would help as well.
If my memory serves correctly the IC is 1 1/4" tall.

The LS1 Corvettes w/this same blower/heat exhanger are above and beyond a stock cobra in power production.
I'm still interested, even if it means cutting my cowl up.

Anyone want to make a list of all the folks who are interested, then I send send it to Magnacharger. Maybe they would do it if folks sent in a very small deposit.
I think it's doable. I have considered making my own setup on a 98-02 M6 car.
