Minor Updates on the 106MM SS
#25
We are using the AEM set-up. Has a lot flexibility. The shop is an AEM distributor so I got a great deal. Boost controller is the AEM-1000.
This set up is brand-new. Using a lot of the same engine parts, tranny and rear-end. Everything else has changed. It will be a 370ci .. new pistons, but the stock 6.0 crank. The heads (225 AFR's) have been completely gone through, with new springs. There is a lot of stuff I really need to do with the engine and tranny but money is major problem. I have a T-400, but would love to go with either a 210 or glide. The rest of the car is very solid.
For those that have not seen my SS before, the FQuick link has more details on the car.
Thanks
David

This may be the true test of what a stock crank can really take. A 106 is good for well over 2000hp.
A few quick questions, was any prep done on the crank to get it ready, what rods are you using, and are you running a double o ring?

fortunately for your crank...you'll be limited in power by the heads' ability to seal (what head gaskets you going to try?)
no way would I want to push that crank to the capability of that 106mm

Im always hesitant to go with forged cranks because the factory iron ones are way more forgiving when it comes to punishment. forged ones tend to not like car accidents and i would hate to have one, then find out my $10k motor is toast because the crank snapped when some jerk-off rearended me. but if david pushes it past 1300 and it lasts for a while, i think ill be alright

Great looking setup..... cant wait to see it run.
Im going to be building a 370 soon and was thinking about a forged crank.... but nowhere near your power. I may just keep the stock crank now instead. That one piece is the only thing Im back and forth on.
