Default Precision Pt6765sp Billet turbo questions

Never really heard much about these turbos. I have been calling around today and been pointed in there direction by a couple sales people. My goals are:

5.3 block punched out to a 5.7 running a 6200-6500 redline making about 650-700whp (with a little room to grow). From reading compressor maps it seems a gt4294 or gt4502 would be a good sized turbo, but when talking with a couple people on the phone have been pointed in the direction of either a GT4094rs or a Precision 6765. And been told anything GTK is trash and old technology.... I am also wanting spool around 3500-3800 RPM.

Looks like lots of guys here are running t70, mp70 or t76 turbos, what is a good value for power turbo?

Imo many "sales people" don't really know there product and will steer you in the wrong direction.

5.7l and 67mm will make it tough to hit your goals. A 6765 has a smallish turbine wheel for 5.7l (65mm) even supra guys are switching to 1.15 a/r turbine housings with that turbo. a gt4294 is still a 67mm turbo, the hot side is better sized for your situation, but still far from ideal. A gt4094r is about the worse choice of the group, they look ok on paper but they spool slow and just don't make the power they should and cost a lot. gt4502 is more hotside than you need for 700hp Imo. A gt4202 would be ok, but there are physically large and don't seem to out perform T or TC turbos. GTK's are trash huh? Overpriced yes, All the turbonetics T7x or TC7x turbos you see making good power here are basically a journal bearing GTK with out the turbine coating, and fancy anti surge housing. Based on the trash talking GTK's and the turbos that people have recommended for you must be talking to import (or 4cyl stuff) shops.

The most common way the get where you want to go in the ls world is going to be a TC76 with a .96 ar hot side. (or a GTK1000 lol) it will spool plenty fast and make great power. plus the price is reasonable. if you have to have a billet wheel because cast is old technology and trash, get a pt7675 billet (I asked my self the same thing when I bought my last set of turbos, in the end the there were cast wheel turbos that would do exactly what I want for cheaper with a better warranty)

I looking to get a fairly well priced turbo that will perform well. I am not looking to spend 2 grand on a turbo for a car that will drive 3k miles this year and maybe get the setup changed for next year. I'll take a look at the TC76 and that PT7675. Looks like the modular turbo website has some pretty good pricing. What are someother turbos that guys on this site are running? (singles)

On that size motor go with a 4202.

The billet 67's kick *** but are a tad small. The 6765 turbine is pretty small for those cubes, 6768 would be better suited.

just talked to forcedperformance and they recommended a t78 tubing, and it's bb for only $1400. Pretty sure I will order that when I get home to m visa. Any thoughts?

you can also get a .96 t4 backhousing on the 67billet. I stand in favor to the PTE Billtet turbos. Just cause its small does not mean anything. If it makes the power in a 4 or 8cly its still the same. I would take a Precision turbo anyday over a Turbonetics turbo...

Ball bearing is a waste of money IMO. Spend it elsewhere.

The new 65mm, and 68mm precision hot sides are turbonetics F1, probably more but they don't want to admit to that. and a turbo that makes power on 4cyl most likely is a restriction on a v8

It's only an extra $300 and for the extra spool on the street I think it will be worth it to me. I can see how for a full on drag car it could be a waste of money.

2-300 RPM difference...not work 300 bucks to me. Add 2 degrees timing in the out of boost RPMs and make up for it anyways.
