Rolls Royce used this with their Merlin and Griffith engines in WW2 fighters and bombers. i think they said the exhaust gas thrust was worth about 250+lbs of thrust alone!
ok that was on a 27-36ltr engine, but they where only making 2500bhp.... thins engines isn't that far off..... and a very nice idea Phil....
Be intresting to see some testing. maybe move the exhasut tips from vertical to horizontal and see what the load on the from dampers are. i think you can buy kit that messures damper travel. very usefull on race cars with LOTS of aero....
Chris.

With all of that fuel one could assume you decided to switch to alcohol. But I am not familiar with your cars class rules. Either way it is a smart decision to run 16 "big" injectors than 8 Humongous ones. Good luck Phil, I am sure you will attain your goals.

Thanks man, last year we ran 160s at almost 80# of base fuel pressure, add 40# on top you get 120# of fuel pressure with 86% duty cycles. I think someone said that they are static at 84% with the RPM we turn.
With the new setup I'll be able to switch over to methanol with a few small changes if we need to but at this point we think we can make enough power to run with the big block twin 91mm combos with the right weight break but time will tell. We're trying to get everything out of this heap without going craxy on the boost. I'd love to be able to run 38-40# of boost and run 175 out the back door but thats a tall feat. We need a motor that will make a ton of torque and a driveline that doesn't rob too much power.

Holy hell...you weren't kidding when you said you been spending every extra second working on that heap. Looks really good...are you sure you don't like fabbing more than racing, lol. Give's me bad flashbacks just looking at all that work and I didn't go to near the extent you did. I'm pretty sure you will be the first 6 second LS based DR car once you get that rocket figured out.
BTW...got my motor back last night, put it in today.....SPOOLED the 114 in the garage!!!![Devil](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_devil.gif)
I plan on pushing it pretty hard in the next couple weeks. Starting in Milan this Friday night!
