Default Looking at budget 6.0 TT build

im looking at doing a budget lq4 twin turbo build for my 94 Caprice. I can pick up a good LQ4 for about $500. I want it to hold 650-700 rwhp. this will be E85 based, i would like to reuse the the stock rotating assembly with arp 2000 rod bolts. rpms would be kept under 6200 rpms. Would these piston rings be fine for this application? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLP-E-921K/
I was thinking about studding the heads, ls6 valve springs and a mid 22x/22x 115lsa cam. Turbos will be 62mm with 38mm wastegates, stock manifolds flipped. reciept for success or disaster?

Budget an tt shouldn't be in the same sentence ! Lol why not do a single 76 for those power levels? Good luck none the less

God... I have posted this many times. Budget and anything turbo shouldnt be thought of in the same context... unless your budget is 20k+!

500rwhp goal should be ok on stock engine. For what you said buy forged rods and fully forged pistons. Its not the rings that go boom boom its the ringlands. You need huge fuel system for e85. Like 120 pound or bigger , Twin pumps or huge single, big lines, rails, adjustable reg.
For 650 to 700rwhp you need rear end although not sure whats in the carpice mabye its a 12 bolt then you could be ok ? New trans stock 4l60 isn't going to cut it even at likely 500rwhp.Tuning of course is a given. Obd1 isn't the greatest but guess it can work.
650 to 700rwhp you need speed density tuning no maf.
Add a good 10k easy into your plans and you might be able to build something not too bad.

No lie this **** is expensive! You want it to live so thats where the overbuilding of things comes in and messes up your whole "budget".

Lots of guys run total seal. I run hellfire. Rings that come with most turbo application pistons like wiseco are likely fine too.
So what reare end and tranny are in your car. 4l60? Did the caprice get 12 bolt or at leat bigger 10 bolts? If not then look at a turbo 400 or possibly 4l80 swap as well although guess some guys have built 4l60 to take some pretty big power levels.

Just like stated above, your going to need pistons at a bare mininum for your goals to be reliable. The stock pistons and rods will work for a very short time but why do it twice, spend alittle more and do it right the first time. I'd overbuild it in a few key areas to ensure you have years of trouble free service. No one wants an engine that is only going to last for 15k miles because you always end up spending more than double to fix your first round of cheapness.
