Default Supercharger EXPERTS, technical question

I'm currently having a problem with my Vortech. Bought it used, custom made my own plumbing, ebay FMIC, etc. Got it all installed, made 0 psi, any rpm, any gear. I figured maybe i wasn't spinning it fast enough, impeller wear, etc. So i just invested in a new impeller, new silicon couplers/good t-bolts, smaller pulley (2.75), and still no dam boost! Just pressure tested the Intercooler to 30psi, no leaks. Pressure tested all intake tracting- no leaks.

My question is- Would a bottleneck restriction (i'm assuming the cxracing intercooler off of ebay) in the intake tract negate all of my boost?? So if I'm pushing 10psi into the IC, but its restricted, the outlet will put out 0 psi?? The reason its 0 is because its not enough cfm to be considered pressure at the outlet. And that pressure before the IC is backfed into the SC impeller and absorbed. When I get some extra piping, i'm going to bypass the IC to see if i'm correct. I'm lost at this point, please help !

I would try bypassing the IC as you said. If that doesn't change anything, you may need to have the headunit rebuilt.

Do you have a BOV? or bypass valve? Is it staying closed when your trying to build boost at WOT? Where are you reading boost at? before or after the TB? take off the charge pipe off of the TB and start it. the blower should be blowing lotsa air. rev it to about 2000rpm and it should blow a lot more. Good luck

Check your Bypass valve or BOV and if they are closing under boost then it will be your head unit etc...

Good advice. The blower should be producing a lot of air if you take the outlet tubing off of it. Are you sure the blower is designed to be turning the direction you are turning it? Bob

right off of the headunit at idle it blows a boat load of air. if i hook it back up and check it after the IC it feels like I lost half the air. In both cases, if I completely cover the pipe with my hand it won't blow my hand off. I've removed the BOV to eliminate it.

I'd check boost pressure before and after the intercooler. Bob

My boost gauge is tapped in after the TB- off of the EGR vacuum source. I've also tried moving to the FPR vacuum source with no change.

How? Make a silicon hose with Vacuum line spliced in?

Yes, or better yet, weld in a fitting into your piping. Bob
