Overheating issue
My turbo is about 2 inches from the radiator but I have a blanket on it. Im running 2 12" fans;1 pusher and 1 puller. They are cheaper but were suppose to flow a decent CFM, and I have the blades set correctly as well as polarity. Im running the stock thermostat and have no ac.
I was looking at my tune and heres the fan settings:
Fan 1 On Temp:192
Fan 1 Off Temp:187
Fan 2 On Temp:206
Fan 2 Off Temp: 200
Should I start by replacing the thermo and the radiator cap?
OP, did you remove the plastic airbridge that mounts to the bottom radiator support? That thing is VERY important.

Also, if your fans aren't shrouded, also like they are from the factory, your fan efficiency will be greatly reduced. You lose alot of those cfms, alot.
160 t-stat and fans to come on at 185. I think thats where mine are set and I run cool as a cucumber no matter what...in 95* south Florida heat with my A/C running, in traffic. LT1 radiator, stock fans and shroud.
.
also, if your timing is really retarded, combustion temps are higher and can give you problems.

Straight water is an option, it really doesnt get that cold here. By the time it gets cold, the car is in the garage for the winter.
By front feeder, I mean opened up the front grill, removed the plastic air shield in front of the radiator, and sealed off the area in front of the radiator.
I would definitely get a 160* thermostat. You fan temps were pretty good BTW. Good Luck.
My settings:
Fan 1 On Temp:194
Fan 1 Off Temp:186
Fan 2 On Temp:201
Fan 2 Off Temp: 196

....and man I used to be Anchorage every month for 8-10 days each month....its friggin cold there.....lol

Easy thing to swap....you'll be better off with a 160 t-stat anyway. Give it a shot. But make sure you reprogram the fans to come on earlier with it.
.
Should I go 160 or 180? Isnt optimal temp range 170-200?
