that alki also must be help a bit if your single intake is supporting 750rwhp

57# injectors.. Wow!!! You are a tuning master. You have put to rest my doubts for sure of the need for FAST with turbos on the LS1. You have taken a totally stock motor and proven you can boost deep in the 500rwhp range which is more than enough for the street and shown that with a little bit more fuel, alchy, and time on the dyno you can put down Supra #'s w/out any other mods to the motor. When you put the new motor in I suspect 900rwhp plus for sure. Congrats on all the research Rob Raymer!!!

you cant argue with the figures.. good luck you have with that kit for sure... so you figure at 12psi that set up is about perfectly matched for a stock motor with the 76mm.

of course i'd still like to see the graph

i think its MORE crazy that you are doing this on one 255 fuel pump?!?!

Rob I will say that I never thought the log could do that so I was wrong!!!!!
Your intercooler must be working well and that t-76 is kicking ***. I will take one jab at ya. Being into the turbo buick scene for so long, what in the hell took you so long to start using the alky kit??? I get lost in the numbers for a minute and have to sit back and think "DAMMMMNNn......that's a STOCK motor!!!!" Gloat all you want and enjoy our leg humping....you deserve it!!!! Rob to the naysayers

I would like to see the graph from PSJ car and Robs car to compare the curve.Last year there was a thread about poweradders and I said turbos would come out on top soon and Terry Berger told me I didnt know what I was talking about.

It would be cool to build a shortblock but keep the topend stock and see what Robs kit could really do with stock heads and cam.850RW????

Thumbs up

VERY NICE.
I have always thought it possible to make numbers like that with stock cam and heads and 346 cubes.
Use your compressor people and save some money.

better hurry up and get that dual pump in there then, be pretty silly to have tha alchy hicup and melt down the motor cause your relying on it to keep the A/F right.
well I agree Rob should upgrade the fuel system. However a good alky system has less to go wrong than the main fuel system .
I'll guess Rob is using about a 15GPH nozzle. At 50/50 ethanol/methanol that is about 100hp worth of fuel.
Methanol is superior to C16 race gas. You will make more power using the alcohol vs straight race gas. But I doubt at the total % used here it is more than 25hp.
Robs making good power with this system because he IS relying on it.
He could simply add more alcohol and leave the fuel system alone.
Will get to a point it's a lot of wet flow through the intake though and is risky.

Steve

Not a 255. Walbro 340HP.

That's a really good idea. Don't change the dynamics of the combination, same CR, same cam, same heads... Just forge the shortblock to keep him safe at 130+mph. It would essentially be the supreme test of GM's LS1 without the fear of rod bolts and ring lands going south.

Sounds like a viable compromise to keep Rob safe. I'd hate to see a tragedy resulting from the shortblock. Anyone else on board?

what is a walbro 340 hp? a walbro gss340 and 340 m are both 255lph.

i see now the extra fuel was comming from the alcohol.. i was thinking of it more for the cooling than the octane.

Rob,

One thing you may want to be careful of.

When you dyno with slicks add a bit more fuel and drop timing. I say this because if you were blowing the tires away on the dyno at half pull you weren't getting full load and will probably get a boost spike when the slicks actually hook

Good luck!

The more I think about it the more impressed I am.

You need a nickname Rob.

Simply awesome Rob, When we start hazing the tires on the dyno we just open the hatch and get a couple of big dudes to sit on it. Makes a big difference.
