I had alky on a buick 3 years ago and we did a little test.
With 15# of boost on pump gas it would get about 3* of retard and all we did was install an SMC. alohol kit and within 15 minutes of tuning on the highway we were at 21# of boost with the same timing and no knock at all this was still on sunoco ultra 94.
The only downfall to this was that we had to spray alot of alky and the tank would run out quick.
With this setup we ran a high timing (25*) race chip all the time.No need for c16.

Rob, did you guys ever change the valve springs?
I can't imagine what this thing could do with a turbo cam (even a mild one) and an LSX intake. Great numbers. Not what us average Joes need to be trying; but stunning all the same. Seems a stone stock LS1 with proper tuning and the alky system could survive 550-600 rwhp forever.

yeah,
the numbers for the LSX intake arent that impressive. most ive seen was like 13 rwhp. not worth 6bills. ifyou allready have a turbo . I however have a sheetmetal intake so I suppose i am dumber than those who buy the LSX.

That IS unbelievable! You are about to make me wish I had a QMP Turbo.

Certainly, the guy that said it won't hook is correct... but with that kind of mad power and horse-power curve, you may make up for it on the big end enough to still pull a stunning E.T.
You will need at least something on the par of ET Streets. I drove my car from Raleigh, NC to Huntington, WV last weekend and a guy tried to race me driving 70 MPH. With my Nitto 285's, I broke traction so badly that I felt foolish trying to race it without drag radials on. Quite dangerous when your tires break loose at 60 to 70 MPH. I had 549 RWHP / 757 RWTQ at 9 to 10 PSI peak. I don't know where it's at now that I am maintaining 13 to 14 PSI. But it has mad power. I need to get the CAS regulator and modify the line up front so I can get more fuel flow. (I'm still running this on 93 Octane and lowered timing.)

Then again, i can get 110 at the local station year round, and the C16 is only a couple pumps of the drum away

OK . . . so we've established that methanol likes to eat stuff. So what does Rob for example have to lose by running methanol? Was that particular kit designed to flow methanol? I've got the SMC kit, and I emailed and asked about running methanol in it. He said if I had the square tank, then yes, but if the round tank, then no. Even if the kit can take it, what stock components on the car are at risk?

We are also using alchy on the -dare I say- supercharged Fords with huge success. I'm putting a kit on my Harley truck as we speak. Of course it's a roots blower, but it's still nice to see it works with 'other' boosted apps. We've had customers report back gains of 20-40rwhp on the Lightning Trucks with alchy alone (no methanol).
Just for informations' sake, I'll let you know when we dyno the results of it on our Harley Truck. Should be interesting.
FWIW, all of the alchy kits we sell have the quare tank, so they will all work with Methanol.
Our next step on the Formula after we change to a doublepumper, billet regulator, and billet rails, will be to try straight Methanol. We only ran a 50/50 mix of Meth and Alcohol this time on the dyno. Plus some slicks....maybe we'll see 800+rwhp??
BlackLS1TA - I would bet that you are making some SERIOUS power also. You should get it back on the dyno soon.....who knows....maybe you're making more than me!
BTW, we can also buy Turbo Blue atthe pump right down the street from us, which is why I used it. But the really nice thing about the alchy kit, is the fact that you only use it when you floor it. Rather than driving around on $350/gal fuel and maybe never even needing to floor it.
In example, I drove the Formula on a road trip a few weeks ago, and when I left the house, the alchy tank was full (a whole 1/3 gallon equal to $3). We drove over 600 miles roundtrip and when I got home, it was still half full (<--optimist). So I used only $1.50 worth of alchy and still managed to whoop up on a single turbo'd Supra during the trip. Sweet I say.

If you only ran the 340 intank how much rwhp/boost could you run "WITHOUT" the alchy? Just trying to get an idea how much rwhp these 340 intanks can take.....650-700rwhp max maybe?
