I am planning on bracing it to the motor somehow. Just not sure where yet.
I picked up a tank a sheilding gas last night. switched wires in my welder. Cut all the shitty tacs out of the pipes from the flux core wire and re tacked things together. Also spend some time practicing welding some scrap peices of pipe together to figure out the settings on the welder.

I spent the week end assembling a 382 ls1 for my buddy that is going in a Miata so I didn't get much done on my car but I did get my JGS 50mm wastegate ordered, Manual rack and Pinion, and ordered some more Mandrel bent exhaust for the waste gate and to start the down pipe.
Once the hot side is done I will be yanking the motor and trans. Gonna put a fresh set of cam bearings in the motor cause I am not happy with the way they looked. Also gonna put on a fresh set of head gaskets and check the rest of the bearings while I am at it. Also probably gonna send out the Converter and get it tightened up while it is out.
Also looking at swapping rear gears while it is down too. Just debating what to go with. Got 3.70 now thinking about going to 3.50

I got a lot done last night and today. Laid out the Cold side pipes. Got the Down Pipe laid out back to the front of the Trans. Just waiting on 2 more V band clamps to Show up to finish that part. I have the Down pipe broken into sections so it can be removed while the motor is in the car. I will have a V band next to trans that will have a Turn down on it for now. I plan on later after the car is up and running running a wxhaust out the back with muffler on that will be V banded together so it can be removed quickly.
Waste gate showed up yestarday and I started to figure out how I am mounting that. I am trying to decide if I want to dump the wastegate or plumb it back into the down pipe. Here are some more pics
Also planned the intake side of the Turbo. I just need a 45 and 90 degree bend so I can mount the air filter where the factory over flow bottle was.

Looking good and you are progressing very quickly. Here is a good diagram on page 2 to help get the most of your wastegate with correct mounting position http://www.turbosmartonline.com/inde...ownload&id=201

Well made some more progress tonight. Cross over pipe is complete. Got the Waste gate plumbed and the supports for the cross over done. Just gonna do a little more clean up to it then is it ready to get Ceramic coated.
Still waiting on V band assemblies for the down pipe. They are should be here tomorrow so the kit should be done this weekend. Now I just need to take it back apart and finish cleaning everything up then send it out to get ceramic coated. All I need to finish the kit is oil feed and drain lines and I will be good to go.
Now I need to pull the motor. gonna get new cam bearings installed and check all the other bearigns while it is out. Might install a new set of rings not sure. Just gonna refresh it while it is out.
Still debating about whether to send the converter out now and get it tightened up or wait and see where it stalls with this set up and then get it restalled. I am just thinking while the trans and motor are out why not.
Also think I am gonna swap my 3.70 gears for some 3.50s.

Well the hot side is complete. I dropped it off today to get coated. Manifolds, cross over, exhaust housing, and down pipe. Should help keep things looking nice. I do plan on wrapping the cross over pipe too. just doing this for good measure. I was told turn around would be a couple days so hoping to have it back by mid week.
I have decided that since things are moving pretty smoothly right now. I have an ls6 cam sitting in my garage that I plan on putting in my truck. I am gonna install that in my car so I can work out any kinks in the kit and see how my stall acts with the turbo this fall before the end of the season. Then tear it back down over the winter get the converter restalled if I need to, Swap cams, install boost controller and then crank it up in the spring. This way I am ready for the nice weather in the spring

Looks great! I plan on doing the same in a year or two
FWIW, I wouldn't use the LS6 cam as the basis of re-stalling your converter. I'd install the new cam, test, then re-stall if needed. I assume the car will act differently with the Ls6 cam than with the VA Speed cam.
