Deja Vu. Forgive the non LSX build.

I'm kicking myself in the *** for not going the Viper route instead of building my 7. Insurance would have raped me only being 21, even with a spotless record. I'm sure you're in the same boat for another year though.
Can't wait to see this completed!

I was talking to a friend this week who has a bunch of cars and he wants to build a good street racing car, we told him boosted LS based RX-7. Your car is wicked.

Stock for stock, Z06 wins even against the current 600hp 08-10' Vipers. Their power/weight is pretty tough to beat. The deciding factor for me was the drivetrain on the Viper. On 96-99's people have gone 7's on the stock tranny, 8's on the stock diff, and the motor is good for 1000RWHP. To duplicate a Z06 to get to those standards is too much money than I'd want to put into the hobby in this stage of life. I have a whole collection of what I'd like ideally in my head, we'll see if it ever happens! Can't go wrong with a C6Z0 at all.

How much does a Viper weigh? It seems that a T56 in a f body even with the Viper upgrades won't last. I was planning on making around 1k whp and several people have said it won't in my Camaro. What are the secrets to making them last in a 7 second Viper?

3300lbs-ish stock. I honestly don't know why they don't hold, I don't know enough about what they do to stock T-56s. I know the Viper pieces have hardened parts, not sure how much is done and how much is skipped in aftermarket builds.

^^ i have seen some people installing a pump so it sprays the top of the gears to keep them lubricated under hard acceleration. aperantly some gears run dry at hard acceleration because all the tranny oil goes to the back
makes sense in theory but i have not tried it myself just yet

Interesting. Tiago told me no real built T56 can hold a lot of power and for him after he passed 900 hp, the trannys kept breaking about every 1/4 at a time. He said it was the gears themselves that usually are the cause of breaking and an upgraded gearset costs a ton of money

Well just a little update, I have a deadbeat seller that sold turbos that don't fit on the kit, they press up against the block before we can get any of the other piping on and before the flanges even line up. To make it work I'll have to get some manifolds modified, and a completely new downpipe setup opposed to just adding to the current one for the exhaust.
I've been emailing him back and forth for the last couple of days to work a refund and he's pretty set on telling me it's my problem. I offered to split the fab cost with him and he isn't helping there. Going through the bank to get some money back.... Some people.
I've asked him for $1k to call it good and he's basically telling me it's my problem, even though the kit was advertised to bolt in with no fab. Attorney has been contacted and I'll go after him for it, it's just annoying.

I ran the Vec on mine on nitrous but after going to the turbo the AEM was so much better. You can deff make it work with the vec but you loose resolution with it. If you were planning to run 8psi I would still suggest the AEM but the Vec would be totally fine there.

I've asked the guy for $1k back. Shouldn't but a be much of a stumbling block, it's just annoying.
Good to know on the VEC, thanks Josh. Do you happen to have any of the tuning presets from it or did you not use it on turbos?

Trying my best to! It'd suck not to make it if we are hosting it no doubt! It won't have the cage/brakes by then, but there should be enough shutdown. Yours going to be out? I heard you were changing setups? I was hoping to hang in Houston next year!

I wish I could help you with the base map but I sold my blue and white 96 back in 06 and I've had a few laptops since then. Any decent tuner with AEM will have you knocked out very quickly, Aem is a breeze on boost. I'm with you, I dont know what the difference between the Viper T56 and what goes into a T56 f body build w/ "viper internals" My car made 660/880 on nitrous and 920whp on boost and ever had a single problem with the trans or rearend. I even ran the stock clutch on the bottle.

Trust. call up RPM ask if they can stick your factory trany tail housing on a new magnum. if so all your problems are gone. the magnum gears are about twice the size and strenght as the origanal t-56
