no, that stops the pully spinning on the crank, it doesnt help the belt, plus, the belt slips on the supercharger pulley (if its gonna slip it would be there)
I havent had any slip issues... but i'm also not running that much boost...yet

99 C5 FRC
Intercooled Maggie 112 @ 10lbs (2.9 pulley), mild cam, LS6 head swap, ported LS2 TB, yella terra rockers, LTH, full Corsa

549.4 rwhp
528.9 ft-lb tq

I was previously @ 5lbs using a 3.4 pulley and my numbers were 503.2 rwhp and 487 ft-lb tq.

So the pulley swap gave me a gain of 46.2 rwhp and 41.9 ft-lb tq. I was expecting about an additional 9rwhp per lbs of boost, so I'm satisfied. The only thing that sucks now is that I can't hook up...at....all............

Yeah thanks, I like it too, I just never get to drive it. I might have gone another direction if I had to do it all over, but it is unique. Hawk's 3rd gen has been doing killer stuff with these blowers and LS1's. It's a killer street car and quite the sleeper. I don't feel all those horses because I'm at Colorado. Air up here is very thin.

I recently put in 4.10's, drag sway, full umi front end, Strange SA's, weight reduction, and did some other little things. Looking forward to some new PB's next season.

Default how do you think my set up will work out

I am new to FI, but am excited to get a Maggie. This is my daily driver and when we built it I did not have a supercharger in mind. So the question is how do you think my cam, heads and longtubes will effect the performance. And should I reduce the pully to offset some of the boost loss ? Can I still see over 500rwhp.
Specs are in my sig.

^^^ I don't think your going to have a problem making 500rwhp. I've got the same heads as you and even with the ms3 cam it still put down decent numbers. If I had to do it all over again though, I would go with the stg 1 ls6 heads and the ms4 cam. Thats the set up my buddy had on his car with the mp112 that is currently on my ws6. I believe he had the highest dynoing maggied fbody. He put down 574/505 on stock bottom end.

Thanks, How large is your MAF. I am still running stock but feel that will be a weak link.

just switch to a newer card style maf, I did on my project and then used a gm performance parts mounting lug to put it on a 3.5" aluminum tube. I have a long ways to go till I max out my maf now! My buddie did the same maf trick on his twin turbo c6 thats putting 600 to the tire..

When I was at the 3.2 pulley, I had it for over a year and half with no problems, I just recently got it re-tuned and swaped to the 2.9...no issues thus far. Yeah stock bottom. I've hit it hard over 40 times already on the freeway, all is well so far. There's no reason to do it on the street until I can get some DRs. I suspect that I'll be needing something new sooner or later with this setup, but I'm prepared if something goes wrong. But like I said, I haven't been easy on it at all.

a buddy of mine pushed his 112 to 12lbs @ 577 rwhp and 564 ft-lb tq and had that setup on a stock bottom end for 9 or 10 months before his tranny had its period all over the freeway....his motor has been fine though.

so can the 112 be upgraded to the 122? how bout to the tvs2300? would it be worth it? fitment issues? how bout turning the unit around and running a u-bend like a c5 kb unit?

The 112 and 122 have a different bolt pattern than a TVS, so you couldn't just simply swap the head units out (how nice it would be if you could). I'm unsure of the 112 to 122 swap, but most the people I know with 112s haven't even come close to it's potential, so I would suspect that that swap would be unnecessary (or premature) more often than not. Then again, a good deal is a good deal...if the project costs less than $2K, I'd think on it.
